“Best Vacation Ever!”
Reviewed 19 September 2007

I love Trout Fishing. I went to Turpin with my Wife and we fell in love with this place. She loves horses and rode everyday for a week. I went on daily trips and caught several large Cutties. Two were in the 17 inche range. My buddy caught two over 20 inches.
The food was exceptional and the staff was very friendly. We are going back next year, that's for sure. Got my reservation in for August. I wanted to go in June but they are booked already...Now what does that say! Great place.

  • Liked — They were very rustic and Western, but still comfortable.
  • Disliked — There was nothing that we didn't like.

This is a beautiful ranch in a beautiful place; however the management neglected to inform us of their distinctly born-again Christian leanings. We felt distinctly self-conscious drinking wine and the intense Christian literature spread around, as well as the Sunday Christian church services in the morning (and evening, with NO activities scheduled for this day) made us uncomfortable and irritated, especially at almost $300/a person. The staff was polite but distant and while no one was foced to join in the religious services, the atmosphere permeated our stay. Disappointing indeed.

To whom this concerns,
I am uncertain what your name is or when you visited our ranch. I apologize for any uncomfortableness you may have felt while visiting with us. As you know, we are many miles away and just like the National Parks offer a church service for those that wish to attend.
As with many guest ranches, Sundays are non-riding days for our horses and wranglers.
If you could direct us on what you found offensive in the lodge then I can address those items. Our library includes a number of books including fiction, biographies, and some christian books to read.
Since we do not have a liquor license, any guest is welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages.
We also provide prior to your arrival a schedule so that you may plan your schedule appropriately. Then if your desire is to ride or fish on the day of arrival, we would be able to set that up prior to your arrival.
Our website does provide our view on why we do what we do under our stated mission statement. Our desire is to serve our guests in a way that exceeds their expectations as they visit with us in our home/ranch. Be assured that we respect our guest privacy and their opinions.
