Rawlins is no tourist destination but fun can be had if you're forced to make a stop (because I-80 closes) or it happens to be a convenient place to meet your long distance relationship for the weekend. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and felt like it was well worth our money. We're young and frugal. Huge bedroom with king size bed, microwave, minifridge. Staff was nice, though not very helpful when it came to figuring out what we could do with our free time in their town. Breakfast was OK. Nothing fantastic, but at least there was some of everything (eggs, bacon, biscuits gravy, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee) and its included with the room. Breakfast area is nice. Fitness room is surprisingly well equipped with full dumbbell set and a couple treadmills. Pool and hot tub were maintained, but have floor to ceiling windows with views of the parking lot and some side streets. Location is OK for driving, but a good 5-10 minutes from "town". We'll stay here again if we go back, which won't be hard to avoid ;) Also, they let us have my gf's medium-sized dog in the room for no charge.

Room Tip: Say please and thank you.

We were stuck in Rawlins when I80 was closed due to the weather. The staff was working hard to provide good service to all of the othere stranded travelers looking for lodging. When the hotel was full, they referred travelers to other hotels. They allowed people to make provisional reservations and wait in the lobby to see if they would need to stay. All was done with good humor and courtesy.

We took a road trip in Sept/Oct of 2011 and stayed at seven different hotels. The prices ranged from $67 to $145 a night. The Best Western Plus were the best value, as they were in good repair and clean. They also had a continental breakfast that compared to the higher priced stays. Here is how I would rate this particular hotel. This place was nice and clean. The breakfast was among the best of our trip. Easy access off the freeway. We stayed here due to questionable ratings at other hotels, but at $129 a night we will probably venture else where next time.

New hotel, conveniently located off I-80, but far away enough not to be noisy. Friendly, standard Hampton fare. Breakfast OK, but no sausage or bacon with the scrambled eggs, just some gravy. Fruit salad was empty each time I passed. A little on the expensive side.

Situated just off the interstate and on the edge of town near to several fast food restaurants, this modern hotel is ideally placed. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the free breakfast was of a good quality with lots of choice. This is great for a stopover - would recommend.
