My children & I stayed overnight at the Alpenhof Lodge after our trip to Yellowstone. We needed just an overnight lodging to explore the Tetons before leaving the following afternoon, and could not find lodging in the Park.

The Alpenhof is an older property and there are some quaint things reflecting that...the handpainted plaques on the doors to number them, the actual brass key for your doorknob. (My kids had never seen an actual key for a hotel room! My how time has changed and I didn't even realize it!)

The room was very clean, and the bathroom was decently spacious. The pool was open, but we did not explore it...it was a little cool that evening.

There was a complimentary breakfast the next morning that was well-appointed. There were meats and cheese, eggs, pastries, cereal and waffles.

The staff was accommodating on arrival; the only staff member I felt was disinterested was the man who seated us for breakfast. He was not rude or anything, just not really enthused about the guests. He was chatting with other workers when we arrived and seemed anxious to get back to it. That's fine...I prefer not being harassed while eating! However, I did find it odd that we did not feel the famed hospitality that so many other reviews mentioned. In fact, I was a bit disappointed as I chose this hotel specifically for that reason. We are from a small town and prefer the small town hominess of a friendly face when coming back after an adventure at night, or being sent off in the morning. I'm naive I suppose, to expect to be treated as more than a passing stranger, but honestly I did expect that from the Alpenhof because of the reviews I had read on TA.

The hotel is very pricey for the room quality; I suppose you are paying for location. One thing to note if you're not familiar with the Jackson/Tetons area (we were not): There is no easy access to this hotel FROM the Tetons. You have to go down a beautiful scenic, but sometimes rough and dirt, road to get to it. The road is paved the other way into Jackson. There is no easy access to the airport either, which was our main concern with choosing a hotel. Looking at a map, it appears you can just hop over to the airport; however, because of the backroads, its quite a little jaunt. The good news is you get to see moose and maybe some other wildlife on the way!

I don't think we would choose to stay here again. There is really nothing in Teton Village except the lifts and hotels. No dining available except for hotel dining (pricey). It's quite a drive into Jackson too, to find dinner. For the price, I will plan better next time and stay at Jenny Lake or Jackson Lake in the Tetons.

We had just spent 7 days in early June touring Yellowstone/Grand Tetons and decided to end our trip with 2 nights at the Alpenhof. We were warmly greeted at check in. Our Bavarian King Room was cozy and comfortable, with lovely decor, and even chocolates on our bed. Our first night we ate a most delicious meal in their dining room... we both ordered Wiener Schnitzel for the main course ending with Apfelstrudel and I enjoyed the Heisse Liebe. Don't miss their outstanding breakfast with a variety of choices...bacon, sausage, eggs, fruits, cheeses/meats, cereals, bagels, pastries and the best homemade cinnamon rolls. We had an early flight for the next morning and the wonderful staff said they would provide us each with a boxed breakfast to go (which included fresh strawberries, bagel/cream cheese, orange, yogurt and fresh hot coffee). We totally enjoyed our stay at the Alpenhof and would highly recommend it.

We loved the Alpenhof. The accommodations are cozy. The breakfast included in the stay is absolutely wonderful. The desk staff is knowledgeable and helpful. We will stay at the Alpenhof again. The only thing that could be improved are the laundry facilities. Having and extra washer and dryer would have been helpful.

We flew in for a overnight trip. Arrived in Jackson Hole at 11:30am on Saturday and did the 14 mile drive to the Alphenoff Lodge in Teton Village.

It is a quaint hotel with old world charm and management to match. We went during the off season, so the rate was very reasonable. They even gave us a free upgrade to a room with a wood burning fireplace; a great amenity if you have never stayed in a room with one. The room also had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. There is a nice little lap pool in back, and a nice size whirlpool and sauna. Sam the dog and a couple of his friends were laying around the lobby when we checked in so we got our "doggie fix" when we got there. (We had to board our dog when we went away). Breakfast is served at 7am, unfortunately we had to leave at 6am for our flight the next day, but they packed us a breakfast box to go. 2 bagels, 2 oranges and a couple of cream cheese packets for the road and some fresh coffee was brewing in the lobby.

If you are staying at the Teton village for ski season or for some hiking during the off season, you cannot go wrong staying at this hotel!

Alpenhof Lodge, Teton Village Wyoming is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the ski resort, Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone. Our second visit to this lodge in two years confirmed the friendly service and comfortable rooms. When you go, make sure you plan time to enjoy the breakfast that is included with your room (only hotel in the Village that includes breakfast). Fresh fruit, the best bacon, freshly cooked eggs, pastries and Trevor. Trevor makes sure you have enough coffee and gives advice on the best places to hike or visit during your stay. He directed us to try a day hike to Phelps Lake where we saw a mother and baby moose. Our room had a fireplace, a nice amenity for cool spring evenings in the mountains. The staff made sure our kindling and log were ready. Only one match was needed to start the fire. And on our final morning, as we prepared to take the 7 am flight to Denver, Sean treated us with, coffee, bagels and fruit to go. Great place to stay!

We received the best service we have ever gotten at any hotel. This is no cookie-cutter, hotel chain at all. From the wonderful breakfast buffet to the friendly dogs lying around in the lobby, it made for a special, unique stay.

My husband and I stayed here with our ski club and we were really surprised at how lovely the facilities were. The charming furnishings, gracious service, breakfast buffet, apres ski happy hour, hot tub, ski equipment storage room, and basement washer/dryer made our ski vacation stress-free. Our only complaint is that the pillowtop mattress was not very restful, but that could be that we don't really like them much. Other than that, we would love to return to the Alpenhof!
