My husband and I recently stayed at Alpenhof Lodge while vacationing in Teton National Park. The hotel is in a great location for daily hikes in the Tetons and only 12 miles from downtown Jackson too. Wonderful european style breakfast included with our room - eggs, waffles, pancakes, sausage, bacon, nice assortments of cheese, meats, fruits, pastry. Perfect way to start each morning :)

Sounded great when we were planning our trip. The room was in need of an update, hello 80's. Not cute country, but worn out & from another time. We were pushed aside during check-in to help some people who came in AFTER us! The breakfast was great & enjoyed having drinks on the patio. Wasn't bad, but a little updating would make it so much better! Have to say, if we didn't stay here we wouldn't have seen the mama moose & her baby on the side of the road on our way there the first day. That was amazing!

We stayed only one night on our way to Yellowstone. We were too early to check in so they store some of our luggage and we went on the ski lift- awesome sights! Loved Rendezvous Mountain. I love the staff at this lodge- wonderful people. Its unique and rustic, creaking stairs & actual keys for the doors. There is someone who takes your luggage- thankfully- one because they have small elevators and narrowish hallways but also just because I really appreciate someone else handling my bags for once :) We loved our room, so cute. The beds must be full size, not queen. Those beds are a little shaky, I felt like I might fall off, but that would be the only downside of this wonderful lodge. There was a TV, hairdryer- like any hotel room. They had a heated pool and hot tub outside- we enjoyed it!! Then the breakfast!! OH the breakfast! They have free breakfast, not the usual hotel lobby buffet with the morning news, no, you get seated, they bring you coffee & tea and they do have a rather custom buffet but just a bit better (maybe it was the service) but I thought this was the best free breakfast I ever had! And for dinner go to The Gun Barrel Steak & Game House in Jackson Hole- AWSEOME!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Alpenhof on our way to and from Yellowstone. We made our reservation directly with the hotel and got a great deal. The reservationist was also very helpful and described the rooms accurately. Our room was just as described: it had a lot of european charm and was clean and quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a little bit on the small side, but it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. It wasn't just your standard motel 6 breakfast! There were pastries, fresh fruit, a variety of meats and cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon (which was absolutely delicious) and waffles. What we enjoyed the most about the hotel was the homy feel. Everybody was very nice, courteous and helpful. They even have dogs that are in the lobby and ready to greet you when you arrive. Sam was our favorite! All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and would return in a heart beat.

We stayed here based on the reviews of other travelers, and were a little less than enthusiastic. Don't misunderstand, some things were great; their chef is really excellent and the breakfast was easily worth the $12.95 that non-hotel guests paid. But the room was a bit tired looking; with worn out rug, etc. It seemed to border between quaint and quirky. My big disappointment was the balcony. Instead of being rather tranquil with mtn. atmosphere, etc., it was right next to a construction project and an outdoor bungee jump for kids!

We had been interested in the tram so its proximity to that was great, but the price was more than twice what we had been paying for far nicer rooms.

The staff was very nice and friendly and we did like the classical music in the lobby at night. I do wish we would have eaten dinner there, as their breakfast was great.

Room Tip: We had the Queen Tyrolean room, which I think is supposed to be bigger than some of the others.
