“Yellowstone Valley Inn”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2013

We stayed in a cabin at YVI. The office staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was good. The location is between Cody and Yellowstone and is convenient in that respect. The cleaning staff was terrible but the restaurant staff was great. Cleaning staff only made the bed two out of five nights and did not take the trash out on most of the days. The A/C in the cabin wasn't very good but we only needed it twice. Also, make sure your unit isn't near the RV dump station because it smells up the cabin. It was acceptable for a place to sleep, shower and grab breakfast. Will probably try somewhere else our next visit but we don't regret our stay here this time.

Sorry to hear you weren't totally happy with your stay. I shared it with our housekeeping mgr Jim who is a retired Marine sargent that takes great pride in his and his staffs work. He pointed out that the only time a bed is not made is when customers leave personal possessions on the bed and our staff is instructed not to touch customers possessions. Garbage is emptied daily as well. Our RV dump station is normally only used a couple times a day but I'm wonering if the smell you noticed might have been the septic tank cleaners who service our tanks regularly to insure no problems. They were here at about that time and when they are here it takes quite a while to pump 4500 gals. to fill the truck. Sorry for any inconvenience and I've asked them to come mid day from now on while most customers are off site seeing and our property is pretty much deserted. It would be good if you had experience with other facilities in the area so you'd realize ours is one of the better facilities near Yellowstone. Thanks for visiting. Ron

My husband and I recently enjoyed a 4-night stay at YVI. It was the perfect location for our visit to the area. Our hotel room overlooked the river, which provided amazing views from the back deck. The images are permanently etched in my memory! The staff was spirited, helpful and knowledgeable, providing lots of tips on areas to visit. Food was delicious. Shout out to owners/operators Kyla & Jordan. You run a great ship!!! We will return!!!

Room Tip: Request a ground floor room with access to back deck.

Past through Cody, Wy. on business this time. Although Cody has a great look and a wonderful place to visit, I just had to visit Yellowstone Valley Inn again. What a great property. The food was great, very clean and the atmosphere was the best. If you love what the "West" has to offer, search no more.

Stay here again! The cabins are cute. It was nice to have a window in the bathroom. My friends loved the gifts I bought them in the gift shop. I wish I would have bought more bracelets for me!

We found the staff, very friendly and willing to aid us at each and every turn. Even mailing some purchases for us so we would not have to lug them for the remainder of our trip. The cabins and just the right size and they offer so much more in rooms for families and large groups as well as RV hook-ups. A free breakfast starts your day and really helps with cost. The cabin we had, #12, had 2 full sized beds both pillow tops and very comfortable. While the grounds give the appearance of a rustic old west village it has all the amenities with a hot tub, heated swimming pool, bar, laundry, extra shower building for those RV's of the smaller size, and dining room. I would recommend this place for anyone who is visiting Yellowstone Park.

Room Tip: Did not see the other rooms but the cabins are duplex style so you have only one neighbor attached t...

Booked into a small rustic cabin with front door parking. The staff was friendly and very helpful with Yellowstone Park plans. The cabins are not fancy, but very comfortable. Lovely views from the cabins and dining room. The complimentary breakfast was a buffet of tasty hot options -- perfect to launch us into a day in the Park.

I had the occasion to stay a few nights at YVI, late last summer. We stayed in one of their well appointed cabins, ate two delicious dinners, I strongly recommend their signature dish, "Surf & Turf", an 8oz Flat iron steak with two gigantic shrimp. I mean they were 4oz. or better each. To be enjoyed as well is there free breakfast buffet, available to lodging guests. All the staff and owners were very friendly, and eager to help with directions to numerous attractions in the Cody, WY. area. Last but not least along with the full service rest. there is also full bar, and karoke, 50's, 60's, 70's & 80's, with Big Mike and his sound machine. You can go to Yellowstone Nat. Park with ease, being only 30miles from the East Gate. I highly recomend this stop along your vacation trail. Enjoy the West, the way it should be enjoyed.

Room Tip: Cabins are great, or choose a motel room with beautiful Shoshone river views. RVing, no problem, YV...
