“You get what you pay for”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2011

It’s easy to pick fault with this hotel, but given the price on offer was so much lower than other budget properties in the area, and there’s so much to do in the area that not much time is spent in the room, it merits a “you get what you pay for” comment. It's convenient for the local Albertsons - but watch out for sharp edges on the TV stand.

We stayed here for one night and we also stayed here for one night three years ago. Three years ago we arrived in town and this was the only place that had any rooms available for less than $200. Hotels in Jackson Hole are way too expensive. We stayed again this year for just one night and paid less than we did in 2008. This hotel provides spacious rooms but very small bathrooms. It is nothing fancy, but we haven't foud it as bad as some of the other reviewers on this site. It seemed clean enough to us. The sheets are old and thread bare and need to be replaced. The parking is not adequate for the size of the hotel. It also seems to attract a rough looking group of people but overall we felt safe. The people at the desk were nice. We would consider staying here again, but I hope that the next time we visit we are able to stay in a nicer hotel.

This motel is stuck in the 70's for sure. It is priced similar to most others in Jackson Hole and has a great location, being downtown. But It was just yuk and certainly not worth the overpriced room you got for dirty carpet, dark wood 70's kind of paneling. If nothing else is available, you can survive, but you won't like it.

Nothing fancy but for the price it was worth the price. I was able to use the saved money;; for other things. Pros: 10 miles from the airport, not over priced, easy trip to Jackson and other adventures planned, close to Kmart and Albertsons. However, if you are fussy this is not the place for you.

This was the nastiest hotel I've ever encountered. There were toenail clippings on the carpet, the window would not lock and there were disgusting brown smudges smeared all over the inside of the bathroom door. Sick, sick, sick. We were so alarmed, we didn't walk on the carpet without shoes. The towels smelled so musty, we didn't even shower. Hotels in Jackson usually aren't that expensive. You can find a decent one for $150. But we went over there to see Bob Dylan play at Snow KIng resort, so the town was packed and nearly all of the hotels were booked. So we paid $135 for this dump and it didn't even have a pool or hot tub. We should've splurged for the $200 room down the road. It had a pool, hot tub and fireplace in the room. And they vacuum up the toenails, or at least they seem to do so. The only good thing about Teton Gables is they take pets. Don't stay here. Camp out or drive over the pass to Driggs, Idaho for an $80 room.

We chose this motel because of the price (for the area) and we were not unhappy. The checkin was very quick. Since we used motels.com, we already were in the system but I noted that the young man checking us in did not offer to print us out a receipt. It looked like the owners had made attempts to keep the rooms updated with relatively new carpets which I noticed right away. So we thought that the rooms were clean enough, however we were a little disappointed that there was not a chair in the room to sit on, nor do they offer wireless internet which we also like to have. Plus, this is simply a motel with exterior doors and "slatted" vertical blinds, so the privacy and the noise levels can be a little lower quality than experienced elsewhere. We were on the ground level and some noisy motor cycles woke us up when then pulled in for the evening. The location is OK but there is no view really, and the general atmosphere is a crowded parking lot -- not reccomended if you have a large rig or are pulling anything. I would not steer you away from this place but if you can spend a little more money in Jackson, there are better places. Again, we chose this only because of the price and it was certainly adequate for a night's rest.

Very, very disappointed! We left after the 1st night. My teenage son sat on the carpet(?) to work on his computer and within minutes was covered with ants. We couldn't set anything on the floor due to the ants. The light switch on the wall controlled everything electrical in the room. If you had one light on, you had them all on. Speaking of lights, one of the "main" 1960's light fixtures didn't work. When we checked in we were told "they" (the people at the front desk) really didn't know a whole lot, the owner would be back in about 20 minutes and they were just covering for him. When we checked out the next morning, the same people were there (at the front desk) so I guess the owner never did show back up. Don't waste your money or your time staying here.
