“Absolutely Breathtaking”
Reviewed 4 February 2008

The moment we pulled into the driveway of the Bentwood Inn Bed & Breakfast and gazed at the distinctive log home surrounded by lighted trees and pristine snow, we knew it would be an authentic Jackson Hole, Wyoming, lodge experience. Our room along with the great room, library, loft and dining area reflected the heart of a true western home. Our breakfasts were delectable and the presentation very enticing. The afternoon wine and cheese along with the roaring fire warmed the soul after a long day skiing or snowmobiling. The Saturday bistro night was an added treat for the guests to socialize and enjoy the chefs Italian cuisine.

Everyone from the owners of the Bentwood Inn to the innkeepers and chefs made "Jackson Hole" a place we could truly call home. On our next visit to Jackson Hole, we will definitely come back home to the "Bentwood Inn"..

We have been fortunate to stay at many very nice bed and breakfast inns across the country; however, our experience at the Bentwood Inn in Jackson, WY was "second to none".

While the accommodations were very nice and the owners and innkeepers most accommodating (clearly, on our top fifteen list), the appeal of the Bentwood transcends even the uniqueness of the log frame construction of huge pine logs from Youstemmy Nation Park and the two-story floor to ceiling stone fireplace in the gathering room.

The uniqueness of the "Bentwood experience" stems for the owners' extension of hospitalities not found at other BnBs - the expansive early breakfasts to accommodate skiers, nightly wine and cheese receptions (with good wines served) in the comfortable gathering room in front of a roaring fire and the Tuesday night dinner prepared by trained chefs - all rendered in a sprit truly aimed at maximizing guests' enjoyment - made our stay at the Bentwood Inn "second to none"!

We were thrilled to discover the Bentwod Inn, nestled in its own mini-forest on the way to Teton Village. It is the most delightful bed and breakfast. We found the rooms cozy and well-appointed, with very comfortable beds. Each room has its own bath and is supplied with the essentials. The concierge has lived in the area for years, is knowledgeable and readily available to offer a wealth of info about the area and what it has to offer. Breakfasts are sizable and pleasing to both eye and palate, and there was enough variety to more than please everyone in our party. A late aftenoon offering of wine and cheese on the patio was a high point for me, affording the opportunity to meet and visit with the other guests. I'm from St. Louis and enjoyed meeting people from all over the country. Our visit there was in August 07, but I can just imagine what a wonderful spot it is to enjoy a roaring fire located in the great room after a day on the slopes in Jackson Hole. I heartily recommend the Bentwood.

Built from Yellowstone logs after the late 80's fire, the Bentwood Inn is an architectural treasure-hunt. Around each corner there is a different view and each room is distinctive. (I was offered, and accepted, a tour upon arrival.) Located a few miles from Teton Village Ski Area, I used it as a base for late-fall hiking in Grand Teton National Park. The innkeepers knew the area and on zero-mile, or recovering muscle, days the well-stocked library was available as a private refuge. Breakfasts were plentiful and different each morning. Being able to share the day's events at Wine and Cheese was a nice coda for the day or a prelude for the evening.

  • Liked — It felt like a well-designed home, rather than a hotel.
  • Disliked — There were only five rooms.

We were so happy to have discovered the Bentwood Inn . . . spent two wonderful nights there following a week in Yellowstone and The Tetons. Location is ideal and close to all Jackson Hole and National Park activities. Site was built to be a Bed & Breakfast, and reflects it throughout. Hospitality of owners was fabulous . . . made you feel like part of the family. Breakfast time was spectacular . . . and the afternoon wine & cheese gatherings on the deck provided wonderful opportunites to visit and share the day's experiences with other guests. We have it on our "MUST RETURN" list!
