We have recently returned from our stay at Hale Nai'a in Captain Cook, Hawaii. In short: the title says it all - Look no further!
Close your eyes and imagine of the best vacations your could ever dream of. Hale Nai'a is much, much better. The beds are incredibly comfortable, with hotel-quality sheets and duvets. As you wake up in the morning and lay in bed, you will see whales and dolphins swimming right out your window. The exterior kitchen is fully equipped, and the fridge was packed with fresh fruits on our arrival. We did not use the interior kitchen a single time, nor did we ever shower inside, because the exterior shower is just that incredible.
The cottage is located a two-minute walk away from Manini Beach, called upon as the hidden gem of the island. Those who stay in Kona will pay up to 200$ per person to take a snorkeling tour to the exact spot where Hale Nai'a is located, and dolphin encounters are practically guaranteed over your stay. We swam almost every morning for about 2 hours, and swam with the dolphins four times.
The climate in this area of the island is the utmost-ideal. It is just cool enough to sleep comfortably at night (about 20 degrees Celcius), it never (ever!) rains, and the days are nice, sunny and hot! The plants are all tropical, yet there are no bugs whatsoever (which I loved!).
Janice and Rusty are exceptional hosts, and they made sure we checked off all of our bucket-list items before leaving. They helped us with directions, had plenty of suggestions and even accompanied us on a couple adventures. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for the unbelievable stay we had!
Once again - look no further! After driving to every part of the island over our stay, we can officially say that Captain Cook is by far the best place to stay, and the Hale Nai'a cottage what the cherry on top!
