My husband and I rented the Kona property for two days and the Waimea property for three days in Oct07. Vivian, our host, is friendly and accommodating.

At Kona, we stayed at the Orchid suite which has a lovely lilac theme color. I pretty much like the color and design of the bath towels (simple pleasures). Even the bathroom is so inviting. The suite is just perfect for 2-3 people. What an awesome delight to have breathtaking views of the vast blue Pacific Ocean and the Kealakekua Bay right from inside your screened living room. It's kind of surreal.Outside, the house is tranquil surrounded by tropical plants and different kinds of beautiful birds that visit the birdfeeder to feed. The dark, quiet nights enabled us to sleep so well, only to be awakened by the chirping of the birds and footsteps above us. The place is so close to everything, even to the grocery store if guests want to cook and save on dining out.

At Waimea, Vivian, to our surprise, gave us an upgrade to a spacious apartment below the penthouse. It has equally roomier, nicely appointed bathroom. However, the fridge is small and ice freezer is not working. The apt though has views of the Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa from the kitchen lanai and the living room.

Both properties are well-stocked, though I missed Vivian's baked pastries at Waimea. The cons: aside from the annoying footsteps above us, is the lack of washer and dryer during our stay. But, they may have installed them by now. Overall, we are happy to have stayed at both lovely Belle Vue properties on the Big Island. Thanks, Vivian and Ali, for sharing your lovely homes to us.

We stayed at Belle vue for a few days in November, and enjoyed our stay a lot. The Rose suite is charming and spacious. The view from the bedroom is gorgeous. The location is very nice too - close to excellent restaurants, the best snorkeling, reasonable distance to volcanoes park and great beaches. Vivian was very friendly and extremally helpful in advising us what to do and where to go. We loved that place!

When my wife and I travel, our preferred accommodations are
quiet inns or bed and breakfasts that reflect the personality
of the owner/innkeeper. We booked a four night stay at Belle
Vue largely on the basis of the panoramic views seen in website
pictures knowing that photos often make a place look better than
it is in actuality.
Upon arrival the first thing I thought was that the photos
actually don't do justice to the spectacular views from the linae
and lawn furniture. My wife and I enjoyed having breakfast
and reading each day gazing out over the southeast coast of the Big Island.
Viviane Baker, the Innkeeper, is a wonderful host who
runs this small, two room inn. Each room comes with an amply equipped eat in kitchen and sitting area-perfect for a short stay!
We found plenty of places to visit to fill up our time there and
suggest a drive to the Volcano National Park about 90 miles away. Stop at the black sand beach and the Volcano Winery along the way. Take your snorkelling equipment.
Belle Vue Kona was a great choice.

This is a wonderful place to relax. A perfect hide-away with easy access to anywhere you'd like to visit on the island. The do-it-yourself breakfast supplied is great for the laid-back, keep-your-own-schedule that the Hawaiian spirit invites. We hope we can come again

Belle Vue Kona: Beautiful garden, tranquil setting, many birds. A priivate patio with spectacular view; flowers everywhere; relaxing and peaceful. Excellent and spacious accommodations. Far from tourist hordes, yet very good restaurants are nearby in quaint little towns. A wonderful place to just hang out and smell the roses…and watch the birds. Verna Osborn, Moraga, CA

We just got back from Hawaii and stayed at the Kona Belle Vue for two weeks. Everything was just great: The view over the ocean alone... The Orchid Suite is spacious, has a lot of light, our host thought of everything, all the little things that make a stay sooo enjoyable. The fresh fruit tasted delicious. We always had a light breeze. The Suite was absolutely clean, the kitchenette equipped with everything you need. Our host Vivian was always open for questions, she gives great dining suggestions, too. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Viviane!

Our stay was wonderful. The host is very friendly and helpful. The B&B is more like an apartment (bedroom, kitchen, private bath, living room, private lanai) and very reasonably priced. If you're looking for a quaint B&B complete with four poster and run by a grandmotherly type, don't go here. But if you like to save by cooking your own dinners, and you like clean roomy accomodations, this is for you. Location is perfect for visiting Kona Coast and as a base for visiting the Volcanos and the Kohala Coast. Located in the Kona hills the temperature and cool evening breezes is a great respite from the hot lower elevations.
