“Closed until July 5”
Reviewed 26 June 2014 via mobile

We were so excited to try Lucy's based on the reviews, only to find that it was closed until July 5th. So much for the burrito the size of a baby.

“Sweet baby burrito ”
Reviewed 18 June 2014 via mobile

Holy Guacamole!! Those burritos are massive! My boyfriend had no idea what he was getting into when he ordered the burrito grande. I kid you not, if you were to wrap that burrito up in a blankie, you would think it was a newborn baby.

I got the traditional street tacos and they were really good! Loved the carne asada. They do a good job with the beans and rice, too.

We didn't get a basket of chips with our order so I didn't discover the salsa bar - pretty bummed about that. I love condiments! Haha Ah well.

You have to buss your own table when you're done. Not a big deal.

“Great for a quick and cheap bite”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

A bit more authentic that the average taqueria and unbelievably cheap. We stopped by just before closing and really enjoyed the food. We both ordered burritos and the portions were huge. You can definitely share.

“Popular with the locals!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

You get plenty of food for reasonable prices. My 8 year old loved his tacos. The burritos were huge. Locals flowed in--some to eat in, some for takeout. We enjoyed our food and would eat here again.

“Decent Mexican Food”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

My husband and I had just arrived in Hilo and were looking for somewhere to eat lunch. We found this on Google Maps and decided to stop. The service was decent and the food was also decent...nothing stellar. It's more of a quick-service type Mexican place vs. a sit down and peruse a menu type place. I got the nachos deluxe and they were pretty good, but there wasn't really much to them. My husband got the Lucy Especial Burrito with tofu and he really liked it. The salsa they serve with their chips wasn't to our liking and most of the ones on their salsa bar are too spicy for us as well, so we just ate a few of the chips plain. The Agua Fresca was really good. In all, it satisfied us, but it was nothing to write home about.
