This lovely garden is well-manicured and thoughtfully laid out. You can easily walk the whole thing in 30 minutes, but what's the rush? It has many Japanese features including a bamboo forest, lovely sculptures, curved bridges and wonderful flowers. A nice place to go for a peaceful reflection.

We stumbled on these gardens while killing time in Hilo before our helicopter tour. Very pretty - it's aged beautifully. Our kids enjoyed seeing the fish in the ponds, and the turtles easily viewed from the bridge to the island. A nice way to spend a quiet hour.

This is more a park in the city than a garden. It's free and a nice walk, but we had expected more of the name garden. Park is much more fitting!

Lovely unexpected seaside municipal park. Beautiful layout of ponds, bridges, plantings, and small sculptures. We saw lots of turtles and some interesting birds too. It is free and it is a lovely walk with nice views.

Call it a park or a garden as you wish, but this is a nice walk near downtown Hilo. The grounds are well maintained and are kept in the Japanese style. There is a bridge over to Coconut Island which is a nice stroll. Be aware that a shower can pop up at anytime in Hilo so bring the rain gear.
