Conveniently close to the Kona airport, but off the beaten path in the hills above the shoreline is the location of a not to be missed bed and breakfast experience. The expansive view from Lonn Armour's dining room lanai is surpassed only by the gourmet breakfasts and delicious home grown coffee he serves. With only two guest rooms on the premises, the personal attention his guests receive personifies the true aloha spirit of the big island. The accommodations are spacious with a private lanai, king size bed, and luxurious bathroom. We looked forward each morning to having Lonn join us for coffee and answer all our questions about what to see and do. His years of experience living in Hawaii and his excellent culinary skills made for a memorable stay we hope to repeat in the years to come.

Room Tip: Both rooms enjoy the same view, and the furnishings, walk-in shower, and spa tub are identical.

Our trip to this bed and breakfast was a very welcoming and warm experience. The host goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcoming and to ensure that you are comfortable. He gives the right amount of privacy and yet is happy to sit and chat with you at breakfast. He had a warm smile and a great sense of humour to go along with his stories of living on the island. He gives good advice on what to see and how to see it.
But, of course, the most important aspect is that he is a terrific cook and asks for your likes and dislikes upon arrival.
It was lovely to sit out on his veranda and enjoy his fresh fruit and juice, tea and coffee and a freshly cooked hot breakfast.
He does all of the work on his own and does it in a pleasant and happy way.
A very charming host!

Room Tip: there are only two rooms and they are exactly the same.

We stayed for 3 nights. Loon's breakfasts were fantastic. 10 out of 10. He always served fresh fruit before the hot main dish. What we really enjoyed is that after serving his guests, he joined our breakfast conversations and offered suggestions and advice.

We stayed there the end of May and had a great time. The room was large, an L shaped living area and bedroom, with a small private deck and a bathroom with separate jacuzzi and stall shower. High ceilings, lots of light. The deck looks over a coffee grove to the ocean. Then there is a long lanai, between the two guest rooms, which has a more expansive view of the ocean. Lonn served an excellent breakfast with coffee from his farm on the lanai. He supplied beach towels and told us where to snorkel and find restaurants with the freshest fish. The location is above Kona so it tends to be cooler and cloudier (better for sleeping.) We definitely recommend this place, a nice mix of privacy with a great host.

We actually stayed here back in 2010 and I am just now getting to writing a review. We had a lovely stay here! The views are wonderful from the lanai. I had requested a gluten-free menu and they did a great job cooking me wonderful breakfasts! I really appreciated the special attention to my food allergies and the home-grown coffee was a real treat too! We would stay here again if we are ever lucky enough to go to Hawaii again :~)

We absolutely loved our stay here! There are only 2 rental rooms and the layout is well thought out as it offers both privacy and great views. Lonn Armour prepares an amazing (and I mean AMAZING) breakfast each morning. He serves fruit and coffee that he grows right on the property. The fresh squeezed orange juice is like dessert, especially since you can drink it while looking at the plump, ripe oranges on citrus trees in the back yard. The coffee is delicious. Neither my husband nor I are coffee drinkers, but we not only topped off our cups several times, but also purchased a bag of Lonn's coffee to bring home with us. The breakfast main course was fabulous each day. You certainly won't leave there hungry when you set out to start your day.

Lonn is a terrific host full of great stories of his life experiences. He gave us advice on beaches to visit and even supplied beach chairs, mats, and towels for our use. If you need a break from all of the 'seeing and doing' on the Big Island, this is the place to do it as well. We spent all of one morning chilling out on the lanai reading, looking through the telescope, and petting 'Doog the dog'. This B&B is a great place for relaxation.

Great B&B. Great Owner. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms. I think that both are identical. They are spacious and have private lanais...
