We stayed here the first 3 of 9 nights on the Big Island and this place was a perfect fit for us. Good base for exploring north Kohala, Hamakua coast and the Mauna Loa/Mauna Kea area. It's spacious and quiet, and sits up on the hillside a couple hundred feet above the town. The host Gayland is a friendly, soft spoken guy, friendly but not intrusive. As others have noted, it's not a traditional bed and breakfast where you gather in a common kitchen with other guests, rather they just provide fruit, cereal, milk, bread etc. in the fridge, which was fine for our needs. Large bathroom with a nice walk-in shower with room for 2. And the price was extremely reasonable for Hawaii and for what you get.
