We stayed here the first 3 of 9 nights on the Big Island and this place was a perfect fit for us. Good base for exploring north Kohala, Hamakua coast and the Mauna Loa/Mauna Kea area. It's spacious and quiet, and sits up on the hillside a couple hundred feet above the town. The host Gayland is a friendly, soft spoken guy, friendly but not intrusive. As others have noted, it's not a traditional bed and breakfast where you gather in a common kitchen with other guests, rather they just provide fruit, cereal, milk, bread etc. in the fridge, which was fine for our needs. Large bathroom with a nice walk-in shower with room for 2. And the price was extremely reasonable for Hawaii and for what you get.

Room Tip: We were in the downstairs unit; the upstairs one looked like it would probably have a better view if...

We loved our stay at the Belle Vue in Waimea this September. Our charming host provided information and tips on the area, surfing and all the background info we were curious to learn about. The studio has wifi! and a kitchenette, the fridge was stocked with delicious breakfast cereal, muffins etc.
We very much liked the area up in the hills, cowboy country, the farmers market and the most beautiful Big Island beaches 15min away.
Great value and away from the crowds.

My wife and I stayed with Vivianne for two nights at the Belle Vue in Waimea, followed by three nights at the Belle Vue Kona in Kealakekua Bay (also reviewed). They were both great.

Our hosts could not have been more gracious - the room was a delightful, full studio apartment. Fridge came pre-stocked with milk, coffee, cereal, bread, etc. One late night we got groceries in town and cooked in the room, which was comfortable and relaxing. Location is pretty good - Waimea is a little remote so you'll have to drive to most things, but the Belle Vue is right above town, so great for finding restaurants or supplies.

Minus one star because their dogs were a little noisy and the yard outside our room was a little messy and overgrown, but otherwise, would absolutely stay again at the Belle Vue properties. Thanks!

We arrived in late June and was met by a marvelous host who was very helpful, but never overly-so. We stayed in the suite that was equipped for all our needs, including lots of fresh fruit and a refrigerator with healthy food for breakfast. Our favorite part was the lanai and the view of the lushness of the area and the mountains. It was so peaceful and a respite from St. Louis heat. We would LOVE to stay again!

Right when we came to the location, we were warmly greeted by a older gentleman that showed us to our room and gave us a quick rundown of the location. The chameleons family were amazing, the flowers that bloom in the later afternoon were also amazing. The kitchen/bathroom were well-kept despite the few visitors that came in. The only complain that I had was a smell from the top cover and top pillows on the bed, also some matches for candles would have come handy for guests also :). Excellent despite that, it helped kindle our love more with seclusion and simplicity! Thankyou!

This B&B is located at a great location up the hill where you can have an afternoon stroll down the street with a grassy hill. We stay at the studio which is roomy. Another big plus is there's a fully equipped kitchen - great for those to travel with kids. Host was friendly.

Room Tip: Studio suite costs less and doesn't have a view. The penthouse provides a great view.

I come from the mainland to work on big island often. This trip was nearly three weeks long! I'm always looking to try something different in lodging and was very impressed with the penthouse high up on the hill. The huge expanses of glass provide un-paralleled views sweeping across Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, Hualalai, down to the ocean 2,800' below. The view behind the penthouse is of the verdant green grass on Buster-Brown hill. Nice to listen to the pheasants crow and watch the cows graze high on the steep slopes. One wonders how they keep from falling off. lol

The hosts were great and I felt very comfortable at their place. The rate was very reasonable for Waimea. Bring a sweater, as it can get chilly at night in Waimea! My only ding is the tiny ants that found every dropped crumb. Keep things clean and they aren't a problem though.
