We rented a double and paddled across to Cook monument. Awesome time with tons of fish and calm waters. The guys do a great job preparing the kayak and giving you a dry bag. I was worried that not being able to land kayak was going to be a bummer, but not a big deal draggin it behind you as you cruise around and snorkel. There is a long rope at the front of the kayak. Getting in and out was easier than I thought, but if you are seriously out of shape might be challenging.

Tips:
1. Get there as early as possible they open at 7:00 AM. By the time you get to monument you might be only ones there besides the hikers. Tour groups, big boats, etc. etc. get there around 8:30 to 9:30 and the place becomes a zoo.
2. If you want to see the dophins, veer to the right and kayak to the cove to the right. This is where we say about 50-75 dolphins. Again, get there early. We were heading back from Cook monument around 9:30 AM and saw a splash to the left. We paddled over and were able to swim with dolphins. They seems to cruise around the little bay so no use chasing them. It seemed like they will come by you eventually so relax and enjoy the moment. By 10:30 they were gone.

Everything was great. The staff made everything as easy as possible, from helping us get the kayaks in and out of the water to keeping our car keys so they would not get lost. We saw too many dolphins to count. The snorkeling was great.

I rented the triple kayak for myself, husband, and 10 year old about a week in advance. Turns out that day had a high surf warning. Ehu & Kai were totally flexible, let us have the kayak the next day instead. It was terrific, that next morning the water was still and the dolphins were out, even jumping out of the water, spinning. It was such a fun experience, the kayak and gear were included in the price, we could have had the kayak all day but returns after about 3 hours. Do go early (we went at 8 am) as it can get crowded at Captain Cook around 10 am.
