This is an incredible place. Imaginelle said everything I'd say. It's quite isolated & about 20 miles from the closest store. If I were to go again I'd rent a car in Hilo. It was still an awesome experience.

Just took a big group here on retreat and it's an amazing place. If you are looking for something wildly different than the plastic of Waikiki, you might just fall in love with this place. Food is healthy and plentiful, the grounds are gorgeous and there are spinner dolphins and turtles down the end of the street. Run by a community of volunteers, dont expect 5 star service but instead genuine care and interest.

Room Tip: Go for the cottages.

The climate, facilities, food, staff, and general vibe couldn't be surpassed. A fantastic yoga teacher was the cherry on top. From the time I arrived, everyone was solicitous to make sure I had everything I needed. They made recommendations about the best excursions, not forgetting the Halloween party, and how to find shortcuts around the many acre campus of the resort. Sometimes they even provided rides, by having folks pile into a van or pick-up for a ride across the land.

Room Tip: Hale 1 has two large rooms with nice screens and overhanging roof.

Kalani awe striking bliss is indescribable. The people, the yoga, the FOOD!, the community, the atmosphere, the accommodations and the vibe all high class and humble. By far, the best thing ive ever done for myself is book a yoga retreat at Kalani and I will definately be back!

I went to Kalani to attend a yoga retreat in August this year, and to consider it as a venue for future retreats of my own. On the second day, I woke up feeling fully refreshed and as if I had been on holidays for a week. Or two. The yoga was excellent, the food divine, the frogs croaking and rain soaking every night so appealing that I made a recording of it... this is a very special place. Read about the local attractions before you book your trip - you need a solid two weeks to see everything in the local area that this beautiful and unique part of the world has to offer. Accommodations are a little rustic, be prepared for creatures - you are staying the jungle, after all. :) The community feeling here is incredible. If you need to renew your spirit, come to Kalani. Aloha!

I ventured to Kalani for the long weekend and realized that my life had changed by Monday morning. This is truly a magical place filled with beautiful people who understand the true meaning of community. Not only did they treat me with delicious and local foods, but I was involved in activities that expanded my mind, nurtured my body and filled my soul. And I was entertained by the amazing volunteers and staff during "Ohana Month." The grounds are filled with lush jungle beauty and are nothing less than what you would dream of in a fairy tale...take just a few steps off the beaten path and you are suddenly deep within your own story book adventure! Get to Kalani and explore the beauty of this part of Hawaii Island, but more importantly find all the elements that make you...you!

Room Tip: Mauka Cabins are my favorite!
