had lunch there recently and we had a lovely experience. i ordered the 4 cheeses quiche (which came with a salad, homemade bread and a mushroom/seaweed soup that was excellent) and my husband the vegetarian lasagna (which also came with salad, bread and a lentils soup). food was fresh, well cooked and presented and.... yummy. the place has a great atmosphere... it's an old house in a garden filled with sculptures, bonsai and other decorations..... a great feel. there is also a shop/gallery with local art and crafts. a very nice spot overall.

While staying in Volcano, my mom and I had lunch at Café Ono twice. It is such a pleasant place to stop in, have a meal, and browse for gifts in the gallery. Local artists and yummy vegetarian food all in one lovely, verdant location! We had the quiche, the sweet potato casserole, and the lasagna (over two days), all of which were lovingly prepared and wonderfully satisfying. It kept us going while exploring Volcanoes National Park and out to the black sand beach where the green sea turtles hang out.

We had a delicious vegetarian lunch in the garden, by the pond. A nearby goat was our entertainment. The service was friendly, and setting amazing. very rustic, but inviting. They have wonderful crafts and art for sale, I bought a beautiful woven fuchsia scarf. Great lunch spot when touring Kilauea. Not expensive. Delightful place. Note, it is in the town of Volcano at the east end, about 5 minutes from the park entrance.

This is an amazing cute place for being in the middle of nowhere. The Volcano area is small and I had no idea that I would find a nice vegetarian restaurant right here in the middle of nowhere.
The food is delicious and the owner is an interesting guy who welcomed us right away.
This restaurant belongs in a big city where more people could enjoy.

We had the quiche, and sweet potato casserole. Enjoyed it with the garden salad & daily soup, and delicious ice tea! This was the best meal we had on the Big Island (including eating at the Four Seasons!) Loved all the local ingredients, homemade taste, and eating out in the beautiful garden with Ernest, the goat. The gallery & gift shop is a wonderful place to spend time while your meal is made. Lovely, beautiful restaurant!
