“Very Nice”
Reviewed 12 March 2013

Stayed in the Deluxe Suite. Very large, comfortable room with an enormous bed and plenty of room to spread out. Suite included small kitchenette with small fridge, microwave and sink. Lenny is very nice, welcoming and helpful. Extremely quiet and relaxing environment. Lots of nice touches - binoculars, flashlights to use for viewing the volcano at night, cooler for picnic lunches. Simple breakfast with juice, cereal, fresh fruit and banana bread. If one is looking for quiet, comfort and solitude and isn't expecting a shared, gourmet breakfast this is a very nice option.

What a gorgeous room! With a bathtub! I was truly floored when I stepped into our room: a bed piled with quilts, a big TV, lots of room and a perfectly designed kitchenette. Lenny thought of EVERYTHING down to flashlights and binoculars for volcano-viewing. Not as social as the other B&B we stayed at on the Big Island, but we did enjoy the privacy and wish we had stayed a bit longer. Breakfast is excellent, featuring fresh fruits, homemade bread, in-room coffee/tea and a selection of cereals.

This is an ideal spot for a romantic/quiet getaway. The room is chock-full of elegant touches that make it look and feel like a fine hotel.

Close/easy access to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Volcano Village. If you do plan to stay awhile, I would recommend picking up any grocery items you like (cheese, crackers, charcuterie, wine....) on your way in, as Volcano Village has few amenities (but do go to the quilt shop).

Well, everything has already been said about this great place!
And there is no point in repeating everything.....
Lenny has done a great job here and he keeps improving it with passion and love!
When we want to return the place is probably booked up ..... But we 'll at least pass by to say hi and see how things are going.

I really liked this hotel. We only stayed for one night, but I wished we had longer.

It's set amongst a rainforest with the immediate surroundings lovingly landscaped and full of flowers. The rooms are in a series of bungalows which don't look much from a distance, but which have been carefully decorated and are well presented. Our suite had loads of room, a lanai (large veranda) and small kitchen. Breakfast was included with fruit, cake and cereal.

The proprietor was supremely helpful. We arrived very late following a walk out to the lava flows and hadn't made note of the directions (make sure you do this as it is a little outside of Volcano itself and tricky to find if you haven't looked in advance). He answered the phone well after midnight and came out with a torch to make sure we found our way!

If you are looking for a convenient and very comfortable base to explore the volcano then look no further.

My wife and I stayed here the weekend of Oct 21-22nd and had a wonderful time. Leonard has built an amazing place and we wish we could have stayed so much longer. Fantastic breakfast, perfect location just 5 minutes from the park, and perfect quiet setting to relax after a day of sightseeing. We recommend that if you plan to visit Volcano National Park that you make the effort to stay here and you will truly understand why every rating so far has been 5 stars. Just hoping the word doesn't get out too much so there is still room for us to go back some day in the future.

I stayed there for only one night and literally to sleep there. Lenny did a great job, from the time of the welcome to the good-bye, in between there was a great introduction to the room, the area, places to eat, and the breakfast. Without his tip I would have not gone to the National Park at night to see the glow of the volcano. Be prepared that it is not on a paved road, but it is not very bumpy at all. It rained when I came there, but it was so sunny when I woke up. Thanks for your hospitality and this delicious cake. It was a special place...

This place is truly amazing. I agree with all the previous reviews. You feel special from the moment you arrive. Even our parking spot said a personal welcome. Every little detail is thought about in this place. The owner Lenny truly has a big heart. He is so warm and friendly and you can tell that he has put his heart and soul into this place. The room is so clean, we didn't have to ask for anything. We were even given a torch for our after dark trip to see the volcano. The B & B is only a few miles from the national park and the surroundings are so peaceful. I can't recommend this place enough, I could have happily stayed there for a week.
