My husband and I spent 2 nights of our honeymoon here. We loved the treehouse - we enjoyed looking at the details of the house. it is very clear that Skye put a great deal if time and effort into every detail. It was a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere and truly very special.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon while visiting Volcano. We absolutely loved it! This place is super cool! A very unique experience for anyone! It has all the amenities you could possibly need including flashlights, umbrellas, bug spray, etc. A very convenient location while visiting Volcano. Keep in mind, it's a treehouse in the middle of the rainforest, so it may be a little damp & musty but the experience is too cool to pass up! Felt very safe & secure the whole time.

We're a family of four and we stayed in Skye's Treehouse in April and had a blast. The pros: it's a two story treehouse with hot and cold running water. It's handmade by Skye and has a cozy, rustic feel, while still being completely contemporary. It's a 10-minute drive from Volcano National Park. Skye is a fantastic host and takes ample opportunity to give information, while still giving you your space. The cons: It's still a treehouse, so you can feel it sway when the wind is strong. When it rains, the rain is loud on the roof (and it seems to rain a lot in that area). It can be a little chilly (though Skye provides space heaters and ample firewood). The bottom line: it's basically like camping in the neatest, most creative rustic cabin you've ever seen.

The tree house is surprisingly comfy with its fire place and very well equipped. It's a tad expensive for 2, but real good value for a family (it sleeps 6 people). Very secluded so best is to arrive before sunset as it's a bit hard to find. It's 5 minute-drive from Volcano National Park entrance. We really recommend it!

Room Tip: It's only 1 treehouse. It can get a bit humid like in any rainforest, so pack a fleece to be com...

Skye was great to work with and very accommodating. His help actually started before we got there as he let us know in our email correspondence where to stop for food in Hilo. He promptly met us at the Treehouse when we arrived and spent time talking to us about his background as well as how the house came to be. He gave us a tour of the place and some of the construction techniques he used. He then took the time to show us a map of the area and asked what we were interested in and showed us where some of the lesser known places to visit were. The Treehouse was very functional and quiet with great views of the forrest canopy and the numerous birds flying around. Everything we needed was there and being able to cook and store cold food made the place very nice for us. We were only able to spend two nights there but I would definitely have spent more time there and would go back again!

Our family of 4 spent several nights at Skye's treehouse in November. This is a beautiful and comfortable place. We loved it. The setting is beautiful as is the house. It had everything we needed for days in and was close to the park as to allow us a number of day and night trips to the volcanoes. Skye is a gentleman, a discreet and considerate host. He may help you if you have car trouble. Thanks for the push, Skye!

We stayed 2 nights at the larger of Skye's treehouse by Volcanoes National Park. What a cool experience!! Very comfortable, and extremely unique. We had our family of 4 plus my sister in law. Again, comfy and roomy for all. We all used the shower and had no problems with hot water. Skye is very interesting and very helpful regarding where to eat etc. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommended :)
