Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

Excellent dinner. Attentive, friendly, service. Beautiful room I had the duck which was outstanding. My partner had the steak which was equally good. The prices were in line with what I would expect for such a great experience.

Good food, really pleasant and atmospheric, fireplace etc. Not loud at all. (Don't know what the other reviewer is talking about; noise must be in her head...)
Far and away more atmospheric than Volcano House, where we stayed. (great room though at VH..). Don't even think of not having a dessert... Not cheap, figure $50 each, but well worth it.
We would definitely go back.

This was our second time to the Kilauea Lodge for a meal, and it was just as good as we remembered it. The place has a warm, cozy camp lodge feel. The service and servers are always cheerful (if occasionally slow). And the food is consistently good, if not excellent. We love their homemade whole grain bread (demolished the loaf) and that they use romaine lettuce in their salads (which come with). My duck was cooked perfectly and the sauce was divine. My daughter had the antelope, which she said was very tasty, and my husband had fish, which he also enjoyed. If you are going to or from Volcanoes National Park, I highly recommend lunch or dinner at the Kilauea Lodge.

My wife and I ate dinner at the Kilauea Lodge & Restaurant on March 26th. We both enjoyed the decoration and feel of the dining room. The large fire place with numerous historic stones inset into the face was welcoming and interesting. The art work on the walls gave the room a distinctly Hawaiian feel. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient with good recommendations on menu items and wine selection. The food was quite good. We enjoyed our dinner so much we returned for breakfast two days later and again had a very enjoyable meal.
