Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

“Great older lodge”

This lodge and restaurant are awesome! We found great gifts to share and enjoy and then went into the bar/restaurant and had a great glass of wine and pupus for a late lunch. Definitely a must when headed up to the Volcano!

“Warm, authentic and upscale dining”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

Boasting an authentic lodge atmosphere, Kilauea lodge restaurant is a must try if you are looking for a more upscale dinner in Volcano. Though I highly recommend reservations, it's not stuffy at all, it's relaxed, lovey, with really spectacular food and service. Try the coconut crusted Brie and local catch with mango salsa, macadamia nut topping. Also the bread is to die for! Oh yes, so is the coconut pie.

“Upscale, not for everyone”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

We stopped in on a recommendation from the staff at Volcano Winery. The restaurant staff was very accommodating, we arrived in less than formal attire and without reservations, after a day of hiking in the park. It was early and there were few patrons, so they seated us immediately and everyone was very attentive. The decor is beautiful, this would be a nice place for a romantic dinner. My wife isn't too adventurous when it comes to food, and she was somewhat stymied by the menu. She ended up ordering the Chicken Tuscany. Typical of an upscale restaurant, the chicken breasts weren't what we're used to buying, those had to be some SMALL chickens. Pocket chickens. It was OK, but she'd never order it again. I'm different, I will eat almost anything and I like to try new things. One of the daily specials was Hunter's something, I forget what they called it, but it was antelope (I didn't ask what kind) meat pounded thin, breaded, and fried like a country-fried steak, and with a delicious sauce. It was very good, and unlike the chicken, the portion was beyond generous. I would definitely order it again, and I'd make the effort to talk the wife into going back if I knew it was on the menu. The lilikoi iced tea was fantastic, we agreed on that. The prices were a little high even by Hawaii standards, but not really too bad.
