Mahalo nui loa for such a glowing review! Your kindness is appreciated!

The Big Island of Hawaii is such a diverse island with volcanoes, beaches, rainforests, and even the occasional snowfall on Mauna Kea! The Innkeepers at Volcano Village Lodge have a love for exploring the Big Island and we like to share our favorite locations with our guests during their time with us. We often hear guests say, "This is our first time to the Big Island, but it's now our favorite island in Hawaii!", and we couldn't agree more!

I can't believe how beautiful this place was - the rooms were amazing and the grounds were like living in a park! I loved the wall windows and the views, and the breakfast was great. We would love to go back and stay longer. Conveniently located if you are going to explore the park.

Aloha and thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review of Volcano Village Lodge.

We encourage visitors coming to the Big Island to spend 2 nights or more in the Volcano area so that you can really get a feel for what the area has to offer. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park can take visitors a couple of full days to see all the best hikes and drives. Not to mention the lush rainforest in the Volcano Village area is worth experiencing...

Stayed at Hale Manaluna last fall after a friend recommended this place as a must see on the Big Island and it did not disappoint! Absolute peace and quiet, beautiful lush tropical scenery, excellent hosts, super comfy bed, I could go on and on... even a friendly cat! The weather was a bit chilly but we are used to temps in the 80s on Oahu - the heated bed was a perfect touch. This was the perfect getaway from hectic Honolulu life! We will definitely be coming back!

Mahalo nui loa for your kind words! Your review brought a smile to our faces.

We often hear from kama'aina that Volcano Village Lodge is a getaway from the hustle and bustle of some of Hawaii's busier towns. The Hawaiian rainforest has a rejuvenating effect on the mind, body, and soul. We are happy to hear you experienced these healing qualities during your time with us.

We welcome you back again and again!

We only stayed one night, but my family agreed it was the best sleep we had! If you are spending some time in the Volcano national park and doing some walking, this is THE place to stay. A little away from it all, but so peaceful and the breakfast and snacks were just great. I would love to go back, for longer and just with my husband next time.

This place was totally amazing from the moment we drove up Highway 11 to the time we had to leave.
We had a romantic breakfast in our room as it was waiting for us in the morning. We loved the quiet quaint bungalows that made the place feel like a romantic retreat for the soul.

This property was the most unique experience we have had: Volcano Village Lodge is nestled in a tropical rain forest where the rooms are essentially independent huts that are mostly glass. We stayed in the Moana Loa house and it was simply divine. The bed felt larger than a king sized bed; the bedding was cozy and comfy; the fireplace in the corner set a romantic mood; the breakfast plates that were delivered were unique and delicious; the kitchen amenities were perfect; the large canister of Kona coffee allowed us to have plenty of morning time in the room enjoying the sites, sounds, smells and atmosphere of the area; the staff was above and beyond accommodating. We had packed light and needed to do a small load of laundry. Kelsey had everything set up in the laundry area from unlocking the door, leaving detergent out, having a dryer sheet ready to go in the dryer. Meghan set up the hot tub for us to use after she or Kelsey had gone for the day. When we did our research on-line while booking our trips, we decided 4 of the 5 rooms at the Volcano Village Lodge would have been perfect for our trip. We booked one of those rooms and upon arrival, we were told we were upgraded to the largest room. The Moana Loa has a loft that overlooks the sunrise above the ferns. It also has a small side bedroom. Our plans included 3 days in the Volcano, HI area and The Volcano Village Lodge was just a few minutes outside the entrance gate. We highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Volcano, HI. Tony & Janet Z

Room Tip: Only the room attached to the reception house didn't appeal to us. The Moana Loa was a gorgeous...

Mahalo nui loa for your kind words. We appreciate hearing from you! You two were a joy to host and we welcome you back again and again!

Occasionally, we are able to do something special for those celebrating special events (anniversary, honeymoon, birthday, etc) and I am happy to know that your complimentary upgrade was an unexpected but pleasant surprise! We hope that you were able to have a memorable anniversary during your time on the Big Island.

We loved the feeling of living in a tropical lush rainforest yet being only several miles down the road from the entrance to Hawaii Volcano National Park. There is no doubt in my mind that staying here enhanced our enjoyment and experience visiting the park.

For six nights, we stayed in the Haleakala and found it spacious with big windows of the rainforest and a porch which we enjoyed each morning, afternoon and evening. We loved the sounds when it rained in the middle of the night, the evening glow of the gas heater/fireplace, and opening the shades in the morning to take in the view. You get a very secluded feeling here, rarely seeing or hearing other guests.

Kelsea and Megan were just great. My husband has dietary restrictions and emails between Kelsea and I prior to our arrival sorted out the possibilities - Kelsea was so accommodating. With six breakfasts we never got bored. We really liked being able to wake up when we wanted and have breakfast when we chose in our room, unlike in B&B where there is a common area where all the guests have breakfast at a specified time.

The location is very convenient to the park - it was easy to come back to our room for a late afternoon rest and then return in the evening for sunset, star gazing and visiting the Jaggar Museum area to see the lava lake aglow.

Aloha! Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We loved having you stay with us!

Our location inside the tropical Hawaiian rainforest gives our guests a unique perspective of Hawaii and the Big Island. Our tall Hapu'u tree ferns grow just outside of the windows of each of our guest rooms. The Haleakala room is unique with its large lava rock feature just off of the back lanai, which has been said to bring healing qualities to those nearby.

We appreciate your kind works and welcome you back anytime.
