We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place. The location made it very convenient for us to do the lava tube tour. We appreciated their flexibility with the lava tube tour, so we were able to squeeze it in to our tight schedule.

Originally we'd wanted to stay in the Park, but glad we stayed here instead. Very comfortable beds, beautiful grounds, quiet, clean, friendly. If we'd stayed in the park we wouldn't have known about the great Lava Tube at this B&B. Dan does a great tour of it. Oh, and the banana bread with coconut is great too!

Myself and partner stayed here during our trip to Hawaii from Scotland. We stayed on Maui for most of the trip but took in big Island for the weekend. Fern forest location beautiful and when Dan says the lava tube is "awesome" you need to believe him! Both Dan and Shannon were friendly and helpful and I am mightily impressed with the place they have built. The dogs are cool however they may compete for your affections :). Didn't try the hot tub. My only regret but the beds were comfy and the overall impression was homely. Didn't feel out of place at all. Thanks for the tour Dan. May see you both again in a few years provided Kilauea behaves itself!

The breakfast was an in-room continental breakfast that included a yummy homemade banana/pineapple bread. The room was cold at first, but there was a space heater available to warm it up. The towels smelled musty. The best part was a walk through a lava tube on the property in the morning!

Great location close to Volcano National Park. Room was clean and quaint. Breakfast was provided right in our room and was delightful - yummy muffins! The lava tube onsite is a bonus! We had a great stay! Thanks!

My wife scheduled an one night stay at the Aloha Crater Lodge because she wanted to try something different than a regular hotel. I am glad she chose the Aloha Crater Lodge.

We arrived fairly late (~7pm) and it was 100% dark. With minimum street light, it took us two tries to find the right place (~5mins). The lady owner greeted us and gave us simple instructions. The room was simple and clean, just feel like a friend's house when he/she is away.

The location was so convenient, and we decided to drive out right away to see the "red glow".
The next morning was a pleasant surprise. We woke up with the birds chirping, and stepped out the door, we realized the house was surrounded by "tropical forest". We went to the "backyard", where Dan showed us the lava tube. For a young couple, it would be a great adventure, since you could walk miles in the tube.
Our stay was brief, but I would choose the location again for my next visit. If you prefer a few days of offline life, this is a great choice.

cheers

We had a very satisfactory stay at the Aloha Crater Lodge. Friendly, accommodating hosts and nice, clean room. Nice dogs on site to pet when missing your own critters. Enjoyed the Lava Tube. Very convenient to the park. Would stay again.
