Stayed here with a family of four recently for a stop-over in VNP. An absolutely wonderful and beautiful property. Our room had a queen size bed so they brought in two foam mattresses with sheets/blankets/pillows for the kids. Breakfast was great with a nice assortment of dish options. The location is ideal, less than 5 minutes from VNP and near several other restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at their Pi'i Mauna house for 2 nights. This house is actually about a 8 to 10 minute drive from the main lodge, and it is in a quiet little residential neighborhood.

The house has a rustic mountain lodge feel. It has a huge green lawn backyard, and the location was peaceful and quiet. Except, there were roosters there who insisted that we get up earlier than we had planned.

This house did have wifi, and it is just a few minutes drive from the entrance to the Volcano National Park.

We had both dinners at the lodge's restaurant. They have an excellent restaurant, we drank and ate very well there.

The stay included breakfast, and the breakfast was the best! It is not the continental type of breakfast, with coffee and pastries, no, they gave us coffee, juice, half papaya, and several hearty breakfast choice, such as French toast, omelet, lots of protein rich type of breakfast.

This restaurant also treated our celiac family member very well. They even had 2 or 3 wonderful desserts that were gluten-free. They had a chocolate cake that was GF, and it was delicious!

The lodge staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Stayed in the Ola'a Plantation House for 3 nights on our recent trip to Hawaii. The house was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and perfect for a family of 4. Daily breakfast at the lodge was included in our stay and proved to be both hearty and delicious! Would definitely recommend staying here if you are headed to Volcano.

A really wonderful place to stay near the Volcano national park. We stayed here recently for 2 nights with our 7 year old son and wanted to show him the volcano national park. The hotel was really great. The food was delicious with the breakfast included. Every detail in the rooms were thought of. We stayed in the Ohia room with a king bed and we were provided a futon for our son to sleep on the floor. The room opened directly to the outside grounds which were really beautiful. We didn't use the hut tub on the grounds but that could've been fun. The room had drinkable water, flash lights and a big umbrella for use. We could have ordered a lunch box from the hotel or had lunch at the volcano house in the national park so we didn't really need to buy groceries and water from Hilo. Staying at this place was again the most memorable part of our trip to Hawaii as the volcano national park is great as well.

Room Tip: So far we have stayed in one of their cottages and the Ohia room. Both were really great.

Lots of space and privacy for families traveling with older children or two couples. charming Volcano Winery right down the road. volcano park 1 mile away for hiking by day and the lava glow by night. We spent two nights in Tutu's Place, a two bedroom house about a two minute drive from the lodge in a somewhat secluded setting. Tutu's Place is a pleasantly decorated restored older home, with surprisingly modern bathroom fixtures and a nice mix of antique pieces, original art, and modern furnishings and conveniences including a flat screen TV. Our family of four had plenty of space and the living room made it possible for those who felt like staying up later or getting up earlier to do so without disturbing the others. We only used the kitchen for coffee (which thankfully was provided) and to chill beverages; however, it was fully equipped. The house was very clean and comfortable. The house is treated as a bed and breakfast with daily housekeeping and a very nice breakfast served in the lodge's dining room. We were welcome to use the lodge's common room and spa; however, after spending a long day in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and returning to the park after dark, we enjoyed Tutu's Place in our spare time and didn't venture over to the lodge.
