in the Queens marketplace, next to the Marriott. Does not look like much from the outside, but do go in and give it a try...

We went twice in a week (despite my usual insistence to try different places while on holiday!) because it was great. We even dropped in for takeout on the way to the airport.

Try the dragonfly .. all selections were good.
I'd say the Tempura on it's own was my least favorite, but the sushi, sashimi, and other fish dishes were all great. Generous, reasonably priced (for Hawaii).

Great service too .. could not believe that our waitress remembered us, as well as what we ordered last time ... gave us great selections. Not sure what the other reviews say about menus or cleanliness.. we are pretty picky and have no complaints at all about Sansei.

Would definitely go back (for a 4th time!!) if we are ever back.... Highly recommended.

We ended up here on the evening our flight arrived after failing to find the Lemongrass Cafe (it's in the food court). The service was great and the atmosphere was relaxing. We ordered the fresh fish and were disappointed in the size of the portions. Everything was *very* salty. DInner for four with a $30 bottle of wine came to $200.

We read about the restaurant offering many menu items at 50% off on Monday nights from 5:00-6:00 PM only, so we decided to try it. When we arrived at 5:15, it was very crowded, but we were seated within 15 minutes. My husband and I both ordered the mahi mahi which came with greens and a rice cake. The food was EXCELLENT--very fresh and flavorful. The waitress was very efficient and attentive even though she was very busy. Even with the discount, the food was pricey, but we were very happy with the food and whole experience and would highly recommend Sansei especially on Monday nights!

The menus are so dirty and smelley. I told the waitress and she gave us new ones. I was concerned about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The food was over priced. Have to go on sunday or monday for discounted deal. Marriott down the street was a better value.

Tried Sansei our first night at Waikoloa. They happened to be offering 25% off on food during the hour we were there, which was an unexpected perk. We tried the Special Sansei roll which was delicious, my husband ordered the ahi with shrimp cake, which turned out to be a shrimp flavored fried fiasco, with some unappetizing thickly sliced ahi. I was feeling like a light salad after the long flight, and the seared ahi salad sounded right. This ahi was better, thinly sliced and nicely seared. The salad was a disappointing handful of undressed mixed greens atop a pool of salty soy sauce based "dressing".

Prices were good, especially during the discount period. Our server was very informative about places to shop for groceries. The atmosphere was relaxing and attractive. Would go again and try other menu choices.
