“Loved staying here...”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

We really had a great time. We were centrally located to head north or south or across the island. Not far from the airport and there is great shopping locally. We had 4 teenagers with us and they loved the pool and the hot tubs. Everyone was so friendly and helped with any request we had. The condos are very well equipped and very spacious for a family of 6. We can't wait to get back to the Big Island and Kings' Land will be where we stay.

We are a family of 4 with two young children 9 and 6. King's Land was a perfect spot for our family. We had a fun filled, relaxed, perfect vacation!

Start of the location. It is an easy less than half an hour away from the airport. Follow route 19 and make a left at the Waikoloa Beach entry with 2 light gray gazebos on either side Waikoloa Beach Drive. Make an immediate left to an unmarked road called Maintenance Road on GPS all the way to the end, then another left. Be ware of the that left to the "maintenance road" at night. Since it is not marked, it is easily missed at night! The complex is nestled in beautifully manicured golf course. True, it is not near the beach, but we found the view of the golf course equally beautiful and serene; especially with the strong contrast between lime green moss-like course and dark rugged lava rocks. Kids enjoyed watching wild goats grazing!!!

In terms of convenience, Queen's Market is an easy 5 drive which has several restaurants, shops and a big ABC store which has everything. We stocked up on breakfast food and fixing for sandwiches/snack for our day trips around the island, which saved us some $$$ and time sitting in the restaurants with antsy children. With another 2 mins. drive is the King's Shops, which has more upscale stores and restaurants such is Roy's and Merriman's. Another great convenience is access to the Hilton Waikoloa Village with complementary free shuttle from King's Land and free parking if we drove there. We went there a few times to use the super pool, Keiki club, which the kids loved!, Dolphin Quest, which the kids loved!, dinner at KPC with impeccable sunset, and just a nice walk along the "ginormous" resort ground. Although we loved the village, we also were glad we stayed at the King's Land to get away from the crowd! The place can be overwhelming in terms of crowd and size! We spent a couple of afternoons in King's Land pool which is beautiful, big and fun, but without the crowd, no stress!!! Loved it!!!

In terms of the room, we stayed in the phase I which is a lot roomier. We had a 2 bdrms, 2 baths, with a big lanai with comfy couch to sit in at night after the kids are in bed and star gazing with a glass of wine in hand. Heaven! The room is tastefully decorated and clean. The kitchen is functional enough with standard fixings. The bathrooms are huge, especially the master bath! We used the free DVD rental one night and caught the free hula show on Thursday evening. There are plenty of activities scheduled, but we didn't make too much effort to catch them as we are busy relaxing and off campus for other activities.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Big Island is an amazing place, and King's Land did not disappoint! We will be back!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed at building 8 phase I which is a lot roomier and close to the club house with the main poo...

Recently stayed here for over a week with our family of four, including two young teens. We had a great stay in a one-bedroom condo, The kitchen was equipped for a family of four and we used it extensively. We also took advantage of the gas grills (3 per building) outside for cooking out (though there often was a wait). We also enjoyed the pool immensely with its water slides, volley ball and basketball areas, waterfalls, and misters. A nice touch were the two free movie rentals per night from the in-building kiosk, though the selection seemed limited. And, we took advantage of the privileges at the Hilton Waikaloa to enjoy a day in their pool and a walk along the waterfront. We tried to attend the "dive in" movie at the pool offered every Sunday, but due to wind they had moved it indoors.

About our only service issues were a broken hair dryer, and a frequent lack of enough towels, however calls to the front desk got these resolved very quickly.

While there was no pressure to attend a time share presentation, though when we looked into booking activities through the Hotel, they offered us a discount card if we attended a presentation. Discounts were very good, about 30% off of what we could get on line for snorkeling trips. However we passed on the presentation.

I really have no complaints, we'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: the buildings on the north side of the street (same side as the club house), facing rear, should hav...

Thank you for your detailed review of our property. I'm very happy to hear you and your family enjoyed your time here so much. I apologize for the broken hair dryer, but am glad to hear we were able to replace it, and the towels to your satisfaction. It’s always great to here that we are meeting expectations, and look forward to your return in the near future!

Excellent resort community with a variety of entertainment facilities (pool, bar, golfing etc) with an impressive and lavish facilities of Hilton Waikoloa Villiage. The resort is secluded, yet accessible to the main highway 19 that runs from the Kona International Airport about 20 miles away. To get to Hilo side of Big Island, we used the Saddleback Road that bisects the island. Overall, it was one of our best family vacations

Room Tip: Pick a higher floor room for more upscale experience

This is an excellent place to stay. The absolute crowning glory of this place is its setting among the natural beauty of the big island. Everywhere surrounding our building are volcanic rock and mountains rising in the distance behind palm trees. The view is just indescribably breathtaking. In back off the spacious balcony is a golf course which is convenient for you golfers out there. Our building was located in a remote area which was quiet and relaxing. Inside, it is beautifully appointed with a nice eat-in kitchen flowing into the seating area with TV. The master suite is huge with a huge luxurious bathroom. The other bedroom is just the right size and the other bathroom is huge as well. We had 7 people total in one unit and it comfortably fit us all, the couch also pulls out into a bed. The pool is awesome with fun slides and natural rock with waterfalls. There is a separate adult pool where you can lounge with a nice beverage. It was never overpopulated. All in all, this is a must stay when you go to the big island, just north of Kona.

We went as a family although two of our children are adults and one teenager. We had a two bedroom villa on the first floor. The patio was great and overlooked the small pool behind our building. The rooms were large enough although not huge. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Nice pool with an adults only section which is really nice if you do not have very small children. We went the third week of July and there was always adequate space to find a place to lay out. There is no pool side drink of food service but the bar/food is close. Staff were friendly and helpful. No beach access at the hotel. We drove to Hapuna Beach. You do have privileges at the Hilton Waikoloa but it is very crowded and we found it not very relaxing. Close to groceries and other shops. There are grills behind each building which is convenient although they were pretty weak and sometimes not very clean. Overall, King's Land was a good experience and if we return to Waikoloa, we would certainly consider staying here again.
