“Dream condo in paradise...”

Place was top notch. We loved the decor, the cleanliness, and overall attention to details. As we told the owners, "Staying at their property has ruined us for we now dislike hotels." This is the second property we've stayed at with these owners and everything they do is first class.

“Truly a Treasure in Paradise”
Reviewed 1 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This was our first visit to the Big Island; and after extensive
research on TripAdvisor, I was drawn to Hali'i Kai, Unit 12
in Waikoloa for our week's vacation ~ truly a treasure in
paradise! From the outset, my interactions with owner,
Peggy, were pleasant. She was always available and
responsive to all questions about the area and the property.

What a surprise to land in Kailua-Kona Airport surrounded
by a moon-like lava landscape and to drive 18 miles south to
be welcomed by an oasis of lush vegetation, waterfalls, and
upscale shopping areas in Waikoloa. Hali'i Kai is a gated
community of lovely condominiums which are beautifully
landscaped, peaceful and quiet (unlike other dense condo
developments).

Opening the door to Unit 12A, we were immediately welcomed
by the stylish decor, spectacular vistas, and all the comforts of
home, including complimentary wine, beer, beverages, and
coffee. With meticulous attention to detail, Peggy has thought
of everything to make a visit to her condo comfortable and
memorable! Reviewers have covered the luxurious and
spacious living quarters, comfortable beds, large bathrooms,
top of the line linens, heavy duty front loading washer and
dryer with cleaning products, closet of aquatic equipment,
umbrellas, tennis racquets, games and books. The kitchen is
well-stocked for even the gourmet cook. We especially
appreciated having wi-fi, a computer and printer at our disposal.

Location of Unit 12A is unbeatable!! From our balcony,
view to the west of spectacular sunsets over the Pacific.
To the east, a view of Mauna Loa (the highest mountain on
earth when measured from the sea floor). And it is a short
walk to the clubhouse for fitness workout, a dip in the pool
or food and beverage. 12A is also right off the 7th hole
of the beach golf course.

My husband and I will be certain to request Unit 12A when we
return to the Big Island. We were also pleased that we stayed on
the west side of the island as we enjoyed sunshine every day. We
drove the two-hour trek to Hawaii Volcano National Park via
Hilo where it does receive a lot of precipitation. Fortunately,
the next day, we booked the 7:00 a.m. helicopter ride over
the volcanos from Pacific Helicopters. That same morning,
the helicopter ride from Hilo had been cancelled due to rain.
I apologize that my enthusiasm for Unit 12 A has resulted in
a lengthy review.

Reluctantly, we leave paradise and Hali'i Kai, but with wonderful
memories.

“Amazing Condo - Perfect in Every Way!”
Reviewed 9 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Our first trip to Hawaii was absolutely amazing! The condo was perfect in every way! The Hali'i Kai resort is gorgeous and the location of the condo has a wonderful ocean view and is conveniently located next to the resort pool, restaurant and fitness center. We had friends staying at the Hilton Waikaloa and it was an easy walk via the golf course walking path to meet up with them for the nightly gorgeous sunsets. The condo was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything! It was so awesome to have beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear and coolers for our many day trips to the area beaches. As foodies that enjoy cooking, it was great to have a fully equipped kitchen and gas grill to allow us to cook and then relax and dine on the patio while watching and listening to the ocean waves. This condo offers all the luxuries of home: Keurig coffee maker complete with coffee pods, a brand new LG front loading washer and dryer, two spacious spa-like bathrooms and amazingly comfortable beds. It was also great to have our own dedicated parking space close to the door. Our friends at the Hilton were all envious of our great find with this amazing condo! We will definitely plan to stay here on our next trip! Thank you for making our stay in Hawaii perfect!

“Can't Wait to Return”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

What a great pleasure it was to be able to vacation in Halii Kai 12A. We would agree with the previous review in that this unit rates a “10”! This is truly “the” very best appointed condo we have stayed in during many years of vacationing and we constantly found ourselves saying the Peggy and Doug have thought of everything! We had the experience of being in the condo as hurricane Iselle approached and made landfall on the Big Island (which had absolutely no impact in Waikoloa). However, the pending hurricane afforded us the opportunity to meet Doug and their son, who stopped by the condo in person to offer their assistance in moving patio furniture inside in advance of the storm. I can’t say enough about what nice people they are!
Peggy’s responsiveness is truly amazing. As we were booking the unit, leading up to and throughout our stay, she was constantly available to answer any and all questions. The instructions that Peggy provided in advance of our visit helped make the process of check in very smooth and easy. Halii Kai is a gated community and, after a long series of flights from the Midwest, the last thing that you would want to encounter is a hassle in getting into the community and the unit. Prior to our visit Peggy provided a temporary access code to enter Halii Kai. Then, upon check-in we were provided electronic key cards for access to the community and the clubhouse/pool area throughout our stay. Likewise, in advance of our visit, Peggy provided an access code for the unit (which saved the hassle of carrying around a set of keys). The whole process was smooth and very well explained.
The location is perfect (great views of the ocean and sunsets) and very near the pool. This is a second floor unit and is very quiet (with no unit above). While there are a minimal number of steps leading up to the condo that could be an issue for some, we think that the views from the unit are well worth it. (If a ground floor unit is preferred, we know that Peggy and Doug also offer a ground floor unit at Halii Kai.) There seems to have been no item overlooked in stocking the unit (plenty of coffee, and a very well equipped kitchen with things that other condos don’t include – like condiments, salt, pepper, spices, flour, sugar, etc. and storage containers, saran and foil wrap). We enjoyed using the grill on the lanai and found every utensil you could ever need. Not only are there a high efficiency washer and dryer in the unit, but laundry detergent, dryer sheets and a nice iron and ironing board. There also a multitude of board games and movies in the unit. We used the cooler and freezer packs in the unit to pack food for trips to the opposite side of the island and up to Mauna Kea.
We will indeed be repeat customers and can’t wait to return!

“Why would you want to go anywhere else?”
Reviewed 3 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This condominium is excellent. The development, Hali'i Kai, is beautifully conceived and maintained. Unit 12A is nicely located on a fairway, near the ocean and the astonishing pool complex. We could see the sun set from our lanai or from the pool. The unit is very nicely decorated and kept up. It is supplied with snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas and just about anything else you can think of for beach fun. There are loads of nice linens including beach towels. The kitchen has it all, even THREE different ways to make coffee with different cups for each! Full size washer and dryer helped out a lot. The exercise room in the pool area is open air and faces the ocean, painless workouts for sure. There is a cafe in the pool complex open for lunch and dinner, pupu's and drinks. We pretty much figured out that we didn't need to go very far afield to have our Hawaii Experience.
