We were staying here so wanted to experience it. Open bar, and buffet food.

You get to see the pig being pulled out from the pit which was cool too.

The show was great, with traditional dance, fire dance.. and even from songs/dances from other Polynesian areas (Tahiti, Samoa, etc.)

We've been to others in Taitii which we loved so this probably set a high bar for expectations. I see from others that they rate 5 stars and I would also recommend to those that have not been to a luau to do it here and not to miss it.

Pork was somewhat dry, other items were all good. If you are staying at the Marriott (maybe only Elites) you get preferred seating. Ask for preferred if you can as sitting in the front gives a better view of the show.

Fashîon shoe was way cheesy but there was an open bar so I didn't mind too terribly much. Get there early for a good seat

The entertainment was top notch. The food was average but met our expectations. It was an Island experience that should not be missed.

The Sunset Luau at the Marriott Waikoloa resort was satisfactory but not the best luau ever. There was plenty of food and liquor to satisfy the crowd, and the food was not bad for a buffet. My husband particularly enjoyed the Kalua pig. I thought the food was a bit too salty, but I found some salad and veggies that were not salty.

Although we arrived early, there was a lot of reserved seating and we were relegated to a rear table, which made it difficult to see the show without standing because the stage is only a foot or so off the ground. The dancers were very good, especially the fire dancers. Overall, an enjoyable evening, but if you go, try to sit close.
