We just returned from 8 days in Waikoloa on the Big Island. We have been to this Roy's Waikoloa before and decided to have dinner here our first night in town - one of our favorite restaurants and convenient to our hotel - dinner was good as was the service but wasn't outstanding as our first visit a few years ago. We did return several nights later - and we had reservations. The restaurant was packed and we were warmly greeted - recognized from the prior night - but, we were given a table on the upper level near the service door. The noise level was extreme; it was crowded, lots of groups, couples, families with children. Our server tried to rush us through dinner; the food was not even as good as our first night and they tried to take our plates before we were even finished. We felt like they were just turning over tables - this is very disappointing. We observed a couple seated near by who had come in just before us still on their appetizer while we were being rushed through to dessert. We might go back because it is convenient and the food is still good but will be sure to time it better and maybe just go to Hawaiian Time. It is a shame because we had such an outstanding experience our first visit.
