We ate here after eating at the one in Kauai. I had the ribs and my wife had fish. I thought the food was good a little on the expensive side but we already knew Roy's wasn't cheap.. Bring your wallet ad expect a good meal and service.

Thank Derek E

The food was delicious as usual - the Canoe for Two appetizer is A LOT of food and very, very good. My husband and I decided to share a dinner salad and also the Macadamia Crusted Hawaiian Mekajiki and the fish was tasty, but had too much sauce. The Melted Hot Chocolate Soufflé was outstanding.

We made reservations and were seated at a table by the window. It was very nice as it was sunset and the restaurant was just beginning to get busy. But once the restaurant fills up, it becomes extremely noisy and you have to talk loudly just to carry on a conversation. Our waiter was horrible. He was cranky and kept touching our silverware as he was going over the menu specials (weird!). The busboy and food runner we had was awesome and we tipped him instead of our waiter. Our waiter never came by to see how our food was or if we needed anything. He was so awful we spoke to the manager about him.

If you are thinking of going there for dinner, make a reservation to avoid a long wait time, request a table by the window and go earlier rather than later...before it gets loud and noisy!

Very reliable, great for special occasions. Wonderful service and the food is delicious. Their seafood is always fresh, love their butterfish and their desserts, especially the lava cake.

Went to this restaurant a couple days ago. Had the dakine dinner, with the desert and appetizer in one for $50. It was way too much food for me, but really, really good. It was nice atmosphere, good service and great food.

We just returned from 8 days in Waikoloa on the Big Island. We have been to this Roy's Waikoloa before and decided to have dinner here our first night in town - one of our favorite restaurants and convenient to our hotel - dinner was good as was the service but wasn't outstanding as our first visit a few years ago. We did return several nights later - and we had reservations. The restaurant was packed and we were warmly greeted - recognized from the prior night - but, we were given a table on the upper level near the service door. The noise level was extreme; it was crowded, lots of groups, couples, families with children. Our server tried to rush us through dinner; the food was not even as good as our first night and they tried to take our plates before we were even finished. We felt like they were just turning over tables - this is very disappointing. We observed a couple seated near by who had come in just before us still on their appetizer while we were being rushed through to dessert. We might go back because it is convenient and the food is still good but will be sure to time it better and maybe just go to Hawaiian Time. It is a shame because we had such an outstanding experience our first visit.
