“There are many great restaurants on the Big Island, this isn't one”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

Our first clue should have been that there was nothing Mediterranean on the menu except hummus. It was supposed to come with our meal but we never got it so I can't tell you if it was good or not. I can tell you that they served my son an overcooked fish over spaghetti with tomato sauce (that was supposed to be the side dish and they placed a piece of fish ON TOP of the sauce). The pasta wasn't drained and the whole dish was watery. We sent that back and my husband and I had the fish tacos which caused both of us to lose an afternoon in Hawaii because we were both sick from them. The only thing worse than the mediocre service was the awful food.

“Good food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We enjoyed our meal here. The prices were very reasonable. We ate inside, but as with most places in Hawaii, the windows were open to allow the breeze to come in. I had the pizza and enjoyed it very much!

Very good little cafe! Service is ok depending who you find. Their signature dessert the zippole is very good so are the salads. We enjoyed snacking there

“Convenient to the Waikoloa Resort and quiet good”

We enjoyed the food and drink here. It is convenient to the Hilton Waikoloa village and on the shuttle route. We had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and quite tasty!

“First Evening in Waikoloa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

After a long day getting to the big Island we were looking for a good, convenient dinner to conclude our day. We decided upon Merriman's after having dined there our previous visit to Waikoloa. Merriman's is very casual, sitting outside on a patio beneath an umbrella. Wanting a beer, I ordered the local Bikini Blonde which unfortunately comes only in a can. My wife enjoyed an inexpensive California Chardonnay, twice. The spicy broccoli was wonderful, fish tacos tasty but not very filling and the tomato/cheese pizza was just okay. We concluded our dinners with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. The service was outstanding and the ambiance charming. Overall, the dinning experience at Merriman's was a great way to begin our Hawaiian vacation.
