We come frequently and usually have a villa for our large family. We love the renovations that have been done. The bath towels are huge, the beds are comfy, the kids love having the use of pools that are not overly crowded. The staff was so friendly and helpful...when we needed anything we just called. The kitchen is pretty well equipped, just remember to turn the ice maker on when you arrive. You are not allowed to go to the Hilton Hotel pool, but we were okay with that because of the congestion there. Parking is free too! 2 1/2 baths made everybody happy in the morning! We will be happy to stay here and highly recommend it.

There were a total of 4 adults (2 couples) for this visit. Sleeping arrangement were easy, there's master bedroom and a pull out couch in the living room. Additionally, there were two tv's, a breakfast nook, a bar counter top, a large wrap around patio, and 1.5 baths. We shared the shower but each couple had their own vanity and privacy. We stayed in building 9 on the second floor. It's an older place but it is fully upgraded. There was a washer/dryer in the unit. The units face the golf course or street but there is minimal/no noise to speak of. Building 9 is right next to one of the pools, centrally located to both club house facilities and the gated exit. The "single" unit was very large. I think it was about 1,100 sq ft. Lastly, the resort is ~5mi's away from the Fairmont, where the Honu Ironman 70.3 race was held. It was very convenient .

As the other reviewers mentioned the property here LOOKS quite nice and renovated May 2011. We had a 2 bd/2 bath with wraparound lanai on the second floor.

However, if you enjoy sleeping, this is not the place for that. Ceilings/floors are the most noise-conductive I have ever heard. We could hear EVERYTHING our upstairs neighbors did. Walking, opening closing dresser drawers, opening/closing the balcony doors, basically everything. We were at the mercy of the family upstairs - if they slept til 8, we slept til 8, if they slept til 6, we listened to them walk around. Earplugs and such do not work as you can feel the shockwaves of footsteps, the light fixtures in our room literally shook when there was any activity upstairs. I could sit in the guest bedroom and listen to the man of the house above walk from his master bedroom, to the guest bedroom, and hear every footstep and rattling of our fixtures as he came nearer. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels and vacation ownership resorts and never had this problem. The last day was the worst - the family above was up before 6 and took 2.5 hours to pack.

When you call to ask for a room change, the staff always acts like it's the first time they've heard this problem. Someone from their security team later explained that there is a big problem with the ceilings and complaints are regular. The staff will offer to give the upstairs room a "courtesy call" to ask them to what...not walk around?!

When asked for a room change, we were informed that they were at capacity and could only move us to a 1st or another 2nd floor room. On a later request we were told that 3rd floor rooms were not available to RCI members.

Bottom line is that the Hilton regulars are all aware of this problem and suck up all the 3rd floor rooms. The first two floors are unusable unless the rooms above are vacant, which is never the case. The nice appointments are worth nothing unless you can get decent rest. The first floor rooms look awful, no privacy, no security.

One last note, about the "free wifi" service. This is overused in the mornings and evenings and nights and is not only slow, but impossible to use. CNN takes minutes to load, and forget about doing any work. I had to go to the Starbucks up the street to do any work online.

Room Tip: If you can get 3rd floor, get it, if not, try somewhere else.

Everyone thing is new condition, nice layout, very large one bedroom unit on the ground floor.
Great lanai that we can just walk right out.
Went to the hotel one afternoon to check it out. The hotel was terribly conjested, lots of people, lots of activity. It was nice for dinner one night but I enjoyed the quiet and serenity of the Bay Club

I never write reviews but feel compelled to in this case. Im very easy going and will just about stay anywhere with little complaunt, so please liok elsewhere to avoid booking here. This is an old resort area from 1970s. The front office is friendly when you arrive but not helpful with anything else. Never once did they mention we could access the Hilton resort for three days with minimal extra cost which would have a beautiful view of the ocean. They could never recommend ant places to eat or tour. There is No ocean view at all from this resort and "resort" is a huge stretch from what this is, more like an apartment complex for the retired. Outdated and not much to offer other than a bed to sleep on. Will never return or recommend to anyone.

We stayed at the Bay Club for a week and loved it. The unit was nice, decor good, kitchen adequate, stacked washer/dryer can't do big loads but sufficient. There were minor issues (eg, new tv in living room would not hold a signal but tvs in both bedrooms worked fine). Maid service only once a week but could call for additional towels and such. There weren't enough gas grills throughout the complex. Would stay there again regardless.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking golf course are quieter than those on the parking lot side.
