“Gated Community, Very Quiet, Well Maintained”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

My wife and I were extremely pleased with the property. We're in our early 30s but everyone staying here looked as if they were retired seniors. No complaints from me since that only means it will be quiet. When on vacation I try to spend as little time in the resort as possible, Hawaii was no exception. But the property was modern, nice size living room with flat screen TV. Comfy sofas, and chairs. Large lenai/patio (much larger than we needed) but was perfect for eating breakfast in the morning on the patio enjoying the breeze.

The bathroom was simply a shower and toilet separated by a door to get to the double vanity bathroom sinks/mirrors. I should have wrote this sooner as my memory is failing me but I'm pretty sure this resort didn't have a whirlpool. We stayed on the second floor, we never heard a sound from any other rooms/neighbors.

Full kitchen and fridge with nice marble breakfast bar made it a joy to make breakfast before hitting the town! All in all the property was perfect, there's not one thing I would change. Except for the silly entry gate. There are likely 3 gates to enter/exit the property. Your room key gets you in. Our gate (closest to our room) required constant swiping, you'd have to swipe 3-4 times before eventually it decided to open. Otherwise great property, great location.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor towards the right end of the property (if you're standing in front...

We were guests of some close friends from back home. If you want a quiet place to retire after a long day of sightseeing or a little bit of lovely afternoon breeze while you nap on the lanai, this is the place for you. You can do all of your cooking here for a long visit, if you like. Or venture out to many of the nearby eateries for exceptional treats. Nice recreational options at your fingertips and views of all three mountains included!

We arrived and the whole process from check-in to check-out was a very positive experience. The available activities were easily accessible including the Ditch ride and the ATV experience with very clear location instructions. We visited many informational activities such as the bee farm, the vanilla farm and the seahorse farm and found excellent dining accommodations in Kona which was within a short driving distance. However it is not a resort where you can easily get around without a car. Overall it was a very relaxing and positive vacation.

Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Close to the beach and other activities. Very friendly, helpful staff. I have been here many times and it is always a favorite of ours. The grounds are beautiful too. A truly great place to spend a week or two.

We stayed in the Bay Club in this complex which is located down the street from the Hilton. It is about 20 miles from the Kona airport and 30 miles from downtown Kona area. We rented a car so no problems driving the 2 - 3 highways. Resort has several pools and the main pool has a bar with happy hour specials include live music from about 4 - 7p. The local musicians were really good and we enjoyed having a Mai Tai while watching our son swim and slide into the pool as live Hawaiian music played. Nice relaxing end to the days and also preparing for dinners. There are restaurants close including Three Fat Pigs pub (sophisticated pub grub) and Roys which we recommend both. We even brought back sushi and pizza (and local beers and juices)from the Queens Marketplace (not food court) to the room to relax. Cheaper and fun way to have dinner since the rooms have full kitchens and dining tables. Complex is well maintained and no problems at all with this place.

Room Tip: Rooms have different views but views of the mountain area is nice. Higher floors are more quite.

This was our second visit to the big Island of Hawaii at the Bay Club. We liked it so much the first time, that this time we wanted to share the experience with our kids. The resort was quiet, clean and well maintained. The staff were knowledgeable. We hired a car and travelled the Island (a must if you are to fully appreciate all the island has to offer). We would certainly recommend the resort to anyone.
