“Suprising Gem”
Reviewed 3 May 2012

Happened upon Hawaii Ono when we were looking for Tropical Taco in Hanalei. Enjoyed a wonderful Butterfish wrap and my daughter-in-law raved about the pulled pork tacos. Very friendly guys and a nice covered spot to enjoy our lunch. We've had several good seafood meals on this trip at expensive restaurants and this fish by far is our favorite. We highly recommend stopping here for lunch on your way to the beach.

“The absolute best food on the island!”
Reviewed 29 January 2012

We tried to go to the taco place next door but it was expensive and kinda dead in there so I said to DH, "Let's try a food truck." Seriously, it was the most delicious food we had our whole time in the islands (with the only exception of the freshest fruit.) The meat in DH's shredded beef & grilled cheese sandwich had layers of flavor, was hot, and about as home-cookin'/gormet one can get. Oh, and the bread-and-butter pickles remind you of your great-grandma's! My Ahi-tacos were well balanced with flavor, crunchy with the right amount of cabbage-slaw, and perfect with the addition of the "special" sauce at the tables. It was completely amazing!

“Some of the Best Food On Da Island”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

Stopped for lunch here the second day on the island and returned every day they were open. I would hold this food truck’s flavor up against any restaurant on the island. Think of it as a mobile BarAcuda (our favorite Hanalei restaurant), but at half the price. Nick prepares his dishes quickly and you can taste his passion for flavor in each bite. Fresh ingredients, incredible unique flavors, and plentiful portions (especially the meat in the Tacos) tickled our palates every afternoon. We unequivocally recommend the fish tacos and pretty much everything on the menu. He was open late on New Years Eve and had the most deliciously unique mini pizzas.

“Cool foodie truck, surprisingly tasty fish tacos.”
Reviewed 30 October 2011

Stopped here on a whim one afternoon for lunch, and had the "daily fish special", which was Tongo Fish Tacos...a seared tuna taco unlike any others I've had. Portions small, but food was very well done, with handmade shells, nice spices, etc. Thai iced tea was superb, as well. Worth a look!
