If you are looking for the perfect place to spend time with your family this is the place. We spent two weeks feeling like home. It's close to everything but you have your privacy and quiet. The home is well equipped and Paul and Norden are the greatest. We even had lessons on how to cracked a coconut! We love going to Kuaui and have the perfect place to stay now. We will be back again next year!

“Immaculate Rental & Beautiful Location”
Reviewed 18 January 2017 for a stay in November 2016

We truely had an amazing visit at this property. The home was immaculate & we loved the Hawaiian hospitality & charm. Our teens finally put away the electronics & we actually were spending some much needed quality time together. We really enjoyed hanging out at the pool, sitting in the jacuzzi to gaze at all the stars at night, went for a short hike up to a nearby waterfall & made good use of the property beach gear provided. We thank Dejon for all of the great Kauai recommendations & thank you Paul for helping us open a coconut for the kids. We'll be back for another visit in the summer! See you again soon! Shelly & Bob

“much more than expected; it was paradise”
Reviewed 15 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Words cannot express how happy we were with this rental house and how happy we were with the service provided by Dejon who manages the renting process and her parents, who look after the property. My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks the end of August and early September to celebrate 32 years of marriage and our first trip together as a couple in 15 years. We found peace and quiet, a private tropical setting, centrally located on Kauai. During our time here we hiked several mountains and to several waterfalls, biked the Kapaa coastal bike path, snorkeled and enjoyed many of the beautiful beaches, and kayaked the 17 mile Napali coast. Every night we were so happy to come home to this beautiful place, shower, wash what clothing needed washed. My husband kept telling me, "We found the best place to stay on the island."
From the initial contact with Dejon via email, then phone to make further inquiries about the property, her kindness when some family issues arose, and her father's concern should we lose power as a hurricane approached, we felt cared for and special. This type of customer service is so rare nowadays, and it is nice to know it is still out there. Being centrally located made it easier to visit north shore and south shore beaches and activities. Being near Kapaa but not in the busy part of the city let us be close to so many restaurants, shopping, and local businesses. The backyard is truly a personal private tropical oasis. We are from a farm in Kansas, so the roosters crowing in the morning made us feel at home. We only needed the air conditioning one day, as the humid air from Hurricane Lester enveloped us, but it was nice to have it that day. We used the heck out of that washer and dryer, and that allowed us to take a lot less luggage and bring home a lot less smelly wet clothing. The house has that welcoming comfortable feeling, Gemütlichkeit if you speak German, that is so hard to explain in English and so hard to find in America. We had coolers, snorkel equipment, bikes and helmets, beach towels all at our disposal and much appreciated. This saved us a lot of money for rentals. Although if you had a small vehicle, and only wanted to bike one day along the coastal bike path, you might prefer renting a comfy bike in town, as it would be hard to ride the distance up the hill after biking that. The personal touches were much appreciated. We thought we would prefer to stay near the beach, but staying near the beach means more traffic and more people and you are probably only going to go to that beach, so we honestly preferred exploring and figuring out which beaches we liked the best then getting away from people at the end of the day. These things are very close: Nounou (Sleeping Giant Mountain) with 3 hiking trails, Wailua River Marina (kayak trips up the river or Napali coast, Smith's Tropical Paradise gardens and luau), Kapaa coastal bike path, secluded cove beach noted in Kauai Revealed blue book (we were the only people on this beach, amazing!), free hula show at Coconut Marketplace, several good grocery stores, downtown Kapaa, 3 beaches, rocky stream that is popular with locals on the weekends. This is a tropical island, so the mosquitos are bad at night, but they are bad in KS at night too, so it really didn't limit our outdoor activities any more than it does here at home. We would certainly be delighted to stay here again and would love to bring our children and grandchildren and rent the entire house!

“Rural charm”

This delightful house is a cross between plantation homestead and beach house. 'Leaping waterfalls' is a tad misleading because the only waterfall we found is the natural looking feed into the swimming pool, but that is a minor comment as the whole effect is charming. The bedrooms are large and gracious, the bed quilts are divine - traditional Hawaiian.

“Beautiful views, great location and all the amenities”

My husband and I were looking for a house that would accommodate us, along with his grown son and his family, and this place was perfect. We arrived to a large fruit basket and chocolate covered macadamia nuts, which were much appreciated after our long journey. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, and unlike some rentals we've had, there were plenty of towels and toiletries for everyone. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils you could possibly need, and there was even aloe vera in the fridge. In the garage we found beach towels, snorkel gear, water toys, bicycles, coolers, and a full size washer and dryer.

In the mornings my husband and I would work out in the gym, then we played in the pool with the kids. We went sightseeing afterwards and returned to the house in the evenings to relax in the hot tub. There were beautiful views of the mountains, and after it rained, we could see waterfalls running down the mountains.

The house was about 15 minutes from Kapaa - far enough away to give us plenty of privacy, and close enough to go into town for dinner and shopping. I also liked that we were centrally located so could get to the major sites on the north and south sides in about an hour.

The only bad thing were the bugs. I would strongly recommend using bug spray if you're outside at night, because the mosquitos are aggressive.

The owners left their number for us and were always available to answer questions. This place was perfect for our family and I would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is immaculately kept, the yard and pool/hot tub were pristine. Very nice to relax in the hot tub after hiking. The kitchen was fully equipped and the bed very comfortable. The location was perfect, with incredible views. Thanks for having us Dejon, Paul and Noreen!
