plantation Hale are older but well maintained 1 bedroom condo's. We've stayed here many times in privately owned rentals and the ones rented through the Hotel. Both are nice to use but we get the best rate using VRBO.

Recently returned from a 5 day stay at Plantation Hale, Kapaa, The staff were very friendly and helpful. Services in the complex are all you would need to have an enjoyable and relaxing time. Gardens of the Hotel are impeccably maintained and the carpark has plenty of parking available.
Room (suite) are large, clean and very well maintained with all the cooking utensils required to create a feast or you can venture out to any and many of the local restaurants close by, all within walking distance.
Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable,
Keep up the good work Plantation Hale.
Certainly would stay here again.

Plantation Hale has excellent location on Kauia, close to the airport and quite central for exploring the island. Shopping basic necessities can be done a 10 minute walk away at Foodland or Safemart, and plenty of good restaurants is nearby as well. The service is very friendly and attentive, housekeeping is good and there is a convenient laundramat in each house block. The free concierge service is handy and very friendly. Kitchen has all the basics, pool area is nice, and parking is ample.

The whole place does feel a bit tattered and old-fashioned, though, with old furniture, a carpet that could use some shampooing and porches that could do with a bit of paint Fridge and aircon can be very loud indeed! Also note that the scenic view is separated from the ocean by some 200 meters of lawn and a row of trees. A small road separates the Hale from the lawn...that road could be surprisingly busy and noisy: especially when the highway was stuck with traffic, people would apperantly use it as a shortcut.

However, for the money, you pay, the Hale is very good value. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Some of the buildings would appear to be close to the highway which has a lot of traffic. We stayed...

We stayed here for 9 nights. We arrived late, after a 27 hours flight and we got a room (suite) in one of the buildings near the road. If I rate this first night it would be "terrible" (very, very noisy, not so clean, toillet didn't flush, old furniture). Next morning we payed an upgrade and moved to K building at the first floor. Here was very good. So, my review is about this suite:
Good things
- the kitchen has everything we needed (and a very noisy fridge)
- free coffee
- very large suite (in European standards it has the room of a 4 star suite)
- clean sheets
- laundry room where you can wash your clothes so no need to overpack
- free wi-fi
- 2 or 3 pools (but very small and you are not allowed to drink anything in there but water)
- 2or 3 barbecues
- Beach-front

Not so great things:
- the balcony was not so clean
- house-keeping doesn't wash the dishes
- the pool area (small, with fence so you feel like beeing in jail because you cannot see anything; no drinks allowed; no toillet so you have to go to your room when you have to go - that can be far)

Room Tip: Stay away from the highway buildings if you want to get any sleep. Choose the rooms that face de oce...

We booked ADA compliant room for our stay in Kapaa and found that it was perfect. Our wheelchair room had to be changed due to a booking crossover on my part. The General manager Eric went above and beyond to make a room super for us. They removed the inner door so the wheelchair would fit into the inner area with the tub. We had misplaced our Handicap parking tag so we tried to park in regular spots but got blocked a few times. I asked the 3rd day of our 10 days stay if they could give a hotel handicap parking addition to the hotel lot tag which hangs in the car. He does not walk and could not get access to the car when blocked if I was away from the hotel. They made a great marker for the car which had hand control operation so that he was able to drive. The room was great and even the pool had a remote controlled lift chair to put him in the pool or hot tub. I would recommend this hotel as it is close to everything! Kudos to Eric, Noe and Pricilla ...they were fantastic.

Room Tip: We stayed garden view and scenic for the second half of our stay and both were great.

This hotel is perfect we had a one bedroom which gave us plenty of room. Our room was updated and had everything need for a comfy stay. The bed was very comfortable and there was a gueen pull out in livingroom. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need. The property is only two floors with many buildings. The location is good you can walk to restaurants and shops.
You will probably want to rent a car so parking is provided. They charge a 14.00 resort fee which covers parking movies etc.
The front desk ladies were very nice and helpful checkin and out very easy. We will surely come back to this hotel again.

The location is great, well centered on the island, we went all over the place and got back to the room each day.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the two first building-complex if you wish to use the hot tub and pool. In the thi...
