Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau begins with a moderated tour with a tram ride or walk through their beautiful gardens, the imu ceremony (underground oven), then food, music, and afterwards the show. All these get an Aplus from my party. The food (buffetstyle) was delicious, Kailua pork the absolute best, and plenty of it, endless drinks, too. There is Hawaiian music throughout dinner and afterwards you walk a very short distance to covered seating to watch Hawaiian and diverse Polynesian dancing, all very professional, respectful to the cultural, educational and entertaining. The show is performed on a runway style stage, surrounding a lagoon, outdoors among the flowers and trees of the gardens. This lovely setting, not on a traditional stage, was wonderful, and made this Luau very unique. It was Mom's 92 birthday, and all staff made sure to come by and wish her well, this was so thoughtful. They will also be helpful if you have any accessibility needs. We had heard several recommendations about Smith's Luau last year when we came to Kauai, so we were pleased to follow up and now to add our recommendation. This was not my first Luau, they all have been very good, but Smith's the best in many ways. The gardens, staff, entertainers, music, and food, all excellent. Thank you.
