We stayed here for 6 nights. The location is good, the rooms decent size, the bathroom small and the lanai tiny. The buffet breakfast was good, but pricey. The internet in the room is very spotty during the weekend, but seems much better during the week, although there is some conflict with programs on the various iphones, ipads, etc. and emails get blocked. We had to reset settings at least once at day after contacting an outside vendor for the hotel. We booked a number of tours through Expedia, the tour company at the hotel and found out later that we could have booked the same tours for substantially less at any "kiosk" around Kauai or through the various advertisements in the many booklets available, which are all competing for the same business. We would not have thought that the price differential is as great as it was booking through the hotel. We would certainly not do that again. We would not use Expedia services at hotels in the future.

Room Tip: Long, long corridors, so a room closer to an elevator is better

This CbM is relatively economical (nothing on Kauai is cheap hence they charge you $14 a night additional for parking) and has a great location on the open ocean so it's worth getting a room with an ocean view. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed: the bathroom and lanai/balcony were tiny. CbM try to keep the frills under control and here they are so controlled as to be non-existent .... apart from a small plastic cup of maitai and the soap in the bathroom it's a bare-bones approach so you need to bring anything else you need.
Efficient and friendly concierge desk (run by Expedia).

We were island-hopping and stayed 3 nights. At check in we received beautiful leis and a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Our room was ocean view with a small lanai. There was a roach in the bathroom (this happened to us on another island as well). The staff moved us to a large oceanfront room on the first floor. We were able to loung right outside our room, on the beach. They also offered us a breakfast buffet, which was very good. Beautiful, peaceful. And roosters everywhere. The location was great, about 20 minutes from the airport, and within walking distance of the coconut marketplace, good for souvenirs and where my husband enjoyed his nightly Lapperts ice-cream, a must try for ice-cream lovers! Also, for breakfast, Eggberts is located there, open only til about 2pm, which includes entertainment in the form of hula dancing while you eat. We rented a car, parking was 14.00 a night which is not bad compared to what I paid on other islands, and were able to easily explore the island from the location. There are supermarkets up the road to pick up some water and fruit. The desk staff was very helpful in helping us decide upon the sunset cruise to the Na Pali coast, absolutely a must!the evening mai tais they handed out in the lobby between 5:30-7pm were a nice touch! Good fitness center.

Room Tip: ocean view!

This is my second trip to Kauai staying in this hotel, which says something right there. Both times I stayed in an ocean view room (well worth it to wake up to sunrise and that view) and I just love this place. Everything is clean, well-kept, staff are friendly and have a good attitude, and there are free mai tai's at check-in before 7pm :)

We had an issue with our shower not draining, which we told the front desk on our way out the 2nd morning, and they had it fixed by the time we came back at the end of the day.

The hotel is right on the water and you can pull the beach chairs from the pool/hot tub, to the beach a few feet away to watch the sunrise or sunset. They have a great property with plenty of space to walk along the beach in the grass, or on the beach, and everything is very clean and well-taken-care-of. There are even free-standing hammocks by the pool/beach!

On our last morning (we stayed two nights, three days), we had the breakfast buffet downstairs, which was delicious. There's an omelette station where someone makes omelette's to order, plus the usual breakfast fare, all very yummy, for about $17.

It's a beautiful hotel and in such a great location. Kapa'a is basically in the middle of the island, so it's perfect to go down one side of the island one day, and the other the next day, with your hotel in the middle as home base. Not the cheapest hotel, I would recommend looking for deals online in places like Orbitz or Priceline. Be prepared to pay $250 and up per night for a room, especially one with an ocean view. Well worth it though if you can afford it!

Room Tip: If you can afford the ocean view it's WELL worth it! Can't beat waking up to the sunrise in the morning :)

Stayed here on our last trip and was real impressed. I've stayed at a few Marriotts in Europe but never in the states. This was quite impressive. The hotel is located right on the beach (east side of the island) and a short drive from the airport. Room was clean, good view of the ocean and a very good price especially for a resort community. Their restaurant was very good and great service. Friendly waiters and staff. They have a great happy our both food and drinks between 4 and 7 in the evening. Quite tasty and very reasonable.

The hotel has many one offs and one of them is a Hawaiian Sunrise ritual every Monday and Wednesday morning. It was fun to watch and participate in.

If we are back in Kauai, we will most likely stay here again.
