Such a lovely spot on the west side of the island. We were there for our honeymoon and felt that we had just the right balance of privacy and easy access to helpful hosts. We loved being on the less commercial side of the island, and across the street from a beach we always had to ourselves!

We were so very pleased with our stay at Hale Puka 'Ana. Patrick and Jules were so thoughtful and accommodating. The view from the upstairs lanai at breakfast was spectacular and filled with lots of whale activity. We highly recommend Hale Puka 'Ana for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of Kauai without all of the congestion of the resort areas. Larry & Joyce Lewis, Virginia

We just spent 3 nights at Jules' and Patrick's Hale Puka Ana. Incredible ocean view! This spot is perfect for accessing the canyon and Polihale beach. A plus for us was being able to go for a run or walk along the road that fronts the ocean. Nice wide shoulder and paved. Of course you can walk along the beach as well. Wonderful beach with a lifeguard station walking distance away. We loved the outdoor tiki kitchen for grilling our market fresh fish. The bed was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. Loved our Lanai!!! Jules' breakfasts were delicious and the perfect start to our day. You won't be disappointed . Can't wait to return!!

An excellent place to stay away from the resort areas but within an easy drive. An ideal location for exploring Waimea canyon. Jules and Patrick made us feel very welcome with their relaxed attitude and provided a good breakfast every day. We enjoyed using the Tiki kitchen for our evening BBQs.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. Patrick and Jules have created such a gem. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with smiles, comfort, and relaxation. You have access to as much or as little direction as you desire in terms of suggestions of places to go explore, eat, etc. They treat you like a long lost relative, not just a "customer." We had such a rich experience- from the super soft sheets and delicious breakfasts to all of the local events they recommended-we have lots of fond memories to bring home with us. We will certainly return and we highly recommend this spot.

Room Tip: You can't get a bad room. If you like your own little place to watch the sunset, get a room adj...

We stayed for four nights at Jules and Patricks lovely B&B. After a warm welcome we enjoyed every morning a delicious breakfast on the lanai at the first floor. The tiki hut with a gas grill in the garden was perfect for an BBQ during the sunset and the nearby beach good for swimming (in the waves ;-) ). Jules had always good ideas for activities and places to go. The waimea canyon with the Alaka'i swamp and the Hanakapi'ai Falls were good hikes. I can highly recommend this B&B to anyone. I would definitely stay here again! Aloha and Mahalo to Jules and Patrick!

This was our first time at a B&B, and we were happy with our choice to stay at Hale Puka Ana. Jules was a wonderful hostess and made healthy, filling breakfasts. We really enjoyed the upstairs lanai in the morning, where we saw whales every day! The location is also ideal for exploring Waimea Canyon and Polihale beach, which is the most amazing and unpopulated beach we've ever seen. The drive to the north shore is pretty far, so we split half of our vacation staying up in Kapaa, to make exploring the whole island a little easier. For the south and west sides, Hale Puka Ana was perfect.

If you have any questions about where to go, just ask Jules! She had some great tips on things we might have missed out on, like the awesome seafood counter at Ishihara Market in Waimea. We bought tuna there one night and grilled out in the yard, then got some poke for lunch at Polihale the next day.

Be aware that that there is a young child in their family living in the home, as well as a friendly dog. Neither were a problem or noisy - just good things to know before you visit. A few other posters have mentioned the road in front of the house, but we didn't have any issues with road traffic noise.

It felt good to support a local family by staying at Hale Puka Ana, and we loved the breakfasts and help that Jules offered. If you're looking for a B&B to explore the beautiful west/south sides of Kauai, we would recommend Hale Puka Ana!

Mahalo Lasweetvie for your compliments!

We wanted to make mention that we do have a now 26 month daughter and a Champion Boxer dog here.

As our featured guest has pointed out, they are well behaved and have never caused a complaint to arise. In fact, most find they are an enhancement to the guest experience!

We understand that the majority of our guests are choosing to stay with us for a relaxed environment type experience. With this in mind, we always pay close attention to how the atmosphere on site may be perceived.

Piko, our daughter, gets lots of attention and has plenty of room in our quarters to do what two year olds do without providing any inconveniences for our guests. Of course it doesn't hurt that she is the most beautiful two year old in the world! (Proud Daddy- did I mention the smartest and most fun to be with too?)

Koa, our dog, is a perfectly tempered Boxer. We are aware that there are some people who don't like dogs no matter the case- we are conscious of this and make sure our guests that interact with him are inviting him to say Aloha. It is simple for us to keep him out of sight if appropriate.

The entertaining thing about B & B's is that they all have their own character. Our guests really enjoy Piko and Koa and the "Home in Paradise away from Home" atmosphere that our place provides.

If you are looking for the things at which we excel; Top Notch Service, Sun, Fun, and Kauai's Natural Paradise, we hope to see you soon!
