Lobster roll was great best I ever had. The long lines and wait time makes you want to leave but I would return. Staff taking order was not friendly as well

Have been going to Deli and Bread for a few years and the sandwiches are fresh and good....however, some of the help there have a definite attitude problem. I recently asked for a change in bread (rye please, not sour dough) on one of their signature sandwiches and the order taker threw a complete nutty on me!!! Really....could it be that difficult??? There is not much of an aloha spirit in this place. Be prepared to stand in line to pay for your order then wait another 20 minutes for your food. Now, we find it best to call ahead and place our order and save some time. BUT, we find they run about 50% as to whether they manage to get our order correct. Amazing how something as simple as "not toasted, please", can get consistently screwed up. Still, the sandwiches are very good, soup offerings we have found to be overly salted and not the best. Worth a trip if you are in Lihue, but be prepared for a long wait and don't expect much in the way of friendly service.

My wife and I had learned about this place on Trip Advisor and saw it also listed in one of the "Best of Kauai" books that we had read. We stopped by on our second day on the island and have to say that the great reviews are not an exaggeration. We did have to wait a while for our orders but that is because of the large number of people that were also there placing orders. While waiting for our order, we enjoyed watching the surfing contests that seem to run continuously on one of the television screens that they have set up. We ended up eating there several times before we left Kauai. I personally like the TOPSS sandwich but everything that we had was great. Top quality bread and ingredients.

Our first lunch in Kauai, and we weren't disappointed. For two cold sandwiches, great bread. Had to wait a while, but no big deal. Next to a Macy's and chain jeweler, so goofy atmosphere. Able to eat outside, which was nice. We only ate there once as there are so many other good lunch places, and didn't regret it.

Went here because of reviews and it was very good. Casual order first then back up to counter to pick up. Located in the Lihue mall. Lobster roll very rich but delicious. Bread bowl chowder was delightful as well.
