We have been coming to Kauai biannually for the past 15 years and on every single trip have eaten at Duke's Canoe Club on Rice Street. The menu has changed over the course of time, as have the servers and staff, but it has been one the most consistently great food and service. We now make it our first stop for dinner in Kauai.
I had the Opah sautéed with macadamia crust and my wife had firecracker moochong. Outstanding. Along with a terrific salad bar it is a great deal and as always friendly, informative service. Always willing to share some local spots to go.
I love the open no walls feel of this restaurant built up like plantations of long ago. We had a nice rain shower that added to the ambiance. Not a fancy restaurant but always good with plenty of locals there too.in 15 years and probably 30 visits I have never had room to try the Hulu Pie which many say is fantastic.
