Owner description: The Hawaii Alive Luau Show is an outstanding show that brings you a unique and authentic Polynesian cultural experience through live traditional chants, music, drumming and dancing from the islands of Hawaii, Tahiti and Samoa. The show is located within the Marriott's enchanting tropical gardens and includes live music, an interactive host, traditional and modern hula, ancient chants, a chance to learn the hula yourself, Tahitian dancing, and the thrilling Samoan fire knife. We also offer optional private dining prior to the show, which you can enjoy with just your family or guests in the open air at the Kaua'i Marriott's Kukui oceanfront restaurant.

“A Real Luau Show We Really Enjoyed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014

The Punua Family has done this show for close to 50 years! We had friends stay with us at the Marriott Lihue and this show is available just one night. We skipped the plated dinner and just bought a ticket to the entertainment which is presented in the incredibly beautiful inner courtyard gardens. This how includes traditional hula and modern dances performed by great young dancers who impressed us all with their professionalism and skill. From hawaiian hula to polynesian fire dances this show has it all.

We are so impressed that this family has kept a great tradition alive and is bringing young dancers along in a very professional manner. No one should miss this show!

“Good food and show”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2014

We enjoyed both the show and the food. The food is served 2 hours earlier than the show at Kukui's. Chairs and stage were set up in the courtyard area of the Marriott for the show. The price is moderate for a luau. The show included the expected hula and dancing with fire. The family in the show is definitely talented and take the chance to talk with them after the show about their background and passion for what they do.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2014

This is not a traditional luau experience as advertised. Upon arrival we stood in line only to be seated in one of the hotel's restaurants and served a preset and average menu at our table beside the sidewalk and the pool. Once our family completed our dinner with no description of culinary or historical luau tradition we were directed to stand in another line for quite some time after which we were seated for the Hawaii Alive show. The show was nice enough but in general we had the feeling that this was one more performance in front of a bunch of tourists and the performers were just doing their job. We spent a lot of money for average food and a less than impressive show.

We had a large group of 18 including children as young as 6 and teens up to 18. All had a great time! show was very entertaining and had audience participation. We even were able to have seats all together reserved. Highly recommended

“The dancers were great, singing and venue not so great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

We were purchased tickets for the show only due to the previous comments on Tripadvisor! We were told to arrive at 7:00 p.m. stood in line until they opened at 7:30 p.m. the introduction was slow, singing was poor - Tiny Bubbles were terrible! When the dancers were presented the show picked up and was good. It lasted a total of 1 hour, there was no bar (who has ever heard of a Luau without a drink. Sat on folding chairs. I can't believe that this is the best show.
