This is a great location in Kauai. It's only 5 minutes from the airport and 10 -15 minutes to Safeway, Costco, Walmart, and other handy shopping. Sunny Poipu is 20 minutes to the south and Princeville is 30 minutes north. We had a 1 bedroom villa with 2 bathrooms which was great! The unit is a little outdated....new flooring, and bathroom makeovers are in need, but it was very clean and functional. The kitchen had lots of dishes, pots, pans, etc. and it was great to have a washer and dryer in the unit. The lanai was very large and we had a beautiful lagoon and garden view. The grounds are lovely and well cared for. The AC is only in the bedroom and it is extremely loud but the living room has a ceiling fan. We tried not to use the AC one night but the roosters drove us crazy! We've been to Kauai twice before and we knew about the roosters but they were unbelievably loud at this resort. The pool is small but we loved it. It had all we needed and the tropical plants made it beautiful. You also can use the pool at the resort next door. It's much larger but also much busier. The staff here are very nice and helpful and when we politely declined their timeshare sales pitch they weren't pushy at all. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: D building is very nice. It's central to the resort next door as well as the pool. D3 is a very...

We recently spent a week at this property in Dec. 2013. our overall stay was fairly good, it is Hawai'i. Of the three islands we have stayed at in Hawai'i we would easily pick Kauai again! If we were to stay at this resort again we would only do so if we were able to get a room ocean front/reno'd and away from the property that borders this resort. The living rm. furniture in our unit was out dated and very uncomfortable. The master bed needed to be replaced, and the kitchen knives wouldn't cut anything, we bought a sharpener and our life here improved dramatically. The beach is ok for walking although we did find a syringe with blood(etc.) still in it! Some units are now getting renovations so by the time we decide to return, we hope that there are more units to choose from. We would recommend asking for units that are away from the "dirt bike track" that seems to be quite active on weekends for the local crowd. So if you are an enthusiast this may be your thing, if a day by the track is what you are looking for. The pools are good and lots of space for a stroll throughout the property. The check in was great and the restaurant inside the hotel on this property was fantastic - highly recommend the eggs benny. We had the battery in our smoke detector die in the night...loud awakening...they fixed it within minutes of us reporting it. The roosters are all over but you do get use to them. The island has many large beaches and as they are plentiful you really have more than enough space for the busiest times on Kauai. We found it very easy driving around the island and if you are staying in a resort that requires you driving to and from "things", we recommend that you get back to your resort before or shortly after dark. The vegetation is right at the roadsides and the ambient light doesnt have a chance to reach to the road. Some travellers forget to turn their headlights on and you really can't see them very well. When choosing a place to stay here, if renting a car is out of your budget, Kapa'a has great beaches, a 4 mile walk way, food/shopping/restaurants/etc. within walking distances. Poipu also has a great area for this. We did the doors off heli ride with inter island, again we have done this on all islands we visited and this was by far the best, and will do it every time we visit this Kauai.

This is really an ideal spot on Kauai. Centrally located and 5 minutes from the airport. The staff is excellent and the property has absolutely everything we needed. The 1 bedroom condo has everything. They even have snorkeling gear, beach chairs, beach mats and beach towels for use. You can use the pool facilities at the hotel next door. Check out is at 10am and our flight is at 4pm so they even allowed us the free use of a suite at 1pm to shower and prepare for flight. Each building unit has Weber grills that look like they have never been used. Picked up those Costco tenderloins and a bottle of wine, added some Hawaiian spice rub. Best steaks I ever had ... with leftovers for 3 days.

I would come back here anytime.

Room Tip: Depends what you prefer - ocean view or close to the pool.

We exchanged to stay here through RCI for 5 days. My husband and I booked a 1 bedroom villa which had a full kitchen, a dining area, living room area with a sofa bed and 2 full bathrooms total.. oh yes, a lovely lanai with a table to eat on..and a washer and dryer. Free wi-fi (which worked great for us the whole time).. We pulled out the sofa bed to stretch out and watch tv and it was pretty comfortable for a pull-out.

I only had one minor complaint, which didn't ruin my day, however, it should be fixed. The flooring in our unit A-18 was coming up in the bathroom and kitchen area, most likely from the temperature, but it needs to be replaced.

The unit was very clean and was only 10 minutes from the airport (which is nice if you have been flying from the east coast all day.) Only a few miles from Wal-Mart which I would suggest hitting up on your way in to gather some groceries on your way in. BTW.. they don't use plastic bags--so bring your own reusable ones.

The access to Kauai Beach Resort next door was only a short walk and is pretty much on the same property as the villas. The pool at KBR was really nice and the hot tubs were hidden somewhat which was nice.

You MUST rent a car if you stay on Kauai.. there are too many places to see off of the resort, even though the amenities such as the tennis court, free movie rentals, and such are a nice touch to stay in. There is only one main road which does a C around the island, so it's pretty much impossible to get lost.

We figured out, if it happens to be raining on the resort that, most likely, it is not raining on the other side of the island (if you are traveling during the rainy season.)

This was our first time to the islands and we had such a lovely time. We sailed with HoloHolo charters where we snorkeled, had breakfast and lunch, saw the Napali Coast up close, and saw several dolphins and whales. Also, we hiked the trail near Kee Beach on the North shore and saw some amazing views there.

The Kauai Beach Villas is located a short distance from the airport. The Villas are an excellent option for those that want to stay longer or wish to have a kitchen. Every morning from our suite I could watch the sunrise. Over coffee, the whales would make their presence known by blowing spouts of water or leaping from the water while feeding. So awesome to see.

The suite we had was in building "G", it was a one bedroom and was enough space for my husband and I. There was even some extra beach chairs, towels and mats for us to borrow. The resort maintains barbeques outside each building for your use. Very nice bonus.

The location of the Villas enables you quick access to the highway for travel around the Island. We were about an hour to Ke'e Beach which is the farthest North you can drive and 45 minutes to Polihale State Park which is the farthest South / West you can drive.

The pools at the resort are accessible to Villa guests, you just have to let the front desk know. There was always space around one of three pools. Very well arranged.

There is also a tennis court next to the Villas office on site, with some board games for people to borrow. The fellow I spoke with didn't seem to know all the things available for Villas guest, I was disappointed with his service. I was hoping he would have pitch some of the event offered at the hotel (South Pacific Show or event for Christmas Day) but he didn't. No worries though, there are tons of great staff inside the hotel. They were friendly and eager to see you enjoy your stay.

The beach outside the Villas and Resort is nice. There is always a great breeze from the water. There are some rocks though, so consider water shoes.

Be sure to bring some recycle cloth bags with you. There is no plastic bags on the Island so if you go shopping you may get paper bags or nothing. The Costco and Kmart were two spots that we found the best prices. Although, for produce go to a local farmers market there is one every day, but Sunday, somewhere on the Island.

We will be back, this was just a scouting trip. There is so much to do in Kauai. Enjoy - Aloha!

This was our first time in Kauai and this condo was 2 miles north of the airport so was an ideal location to get to other spots on the island on day trips. We had a one bedroom on ground level with a view of lagoon. We had access to pools & other amenities(hula show on Tuesday night, restaurant, South Pacific Dinner Theater) at the Kauai Beach Resort. The grounds are beautiful and it was a quiet location.

We stayed in #G6 on the 3rd floor, with a beautiful view of the ocean, coastline and tropical stream. This unit is a short walk across the lawn to the beautiful beach. We went out our door barefoot every morning, and walked and swam and explored the tidepools. The decor and furnishings were not luxurious, but cute and roomy, a good value for the price. Nice extras included were an ice box, beach towels, laundry detergent, even olive oil. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside was a constant low humming noise that sounded like it was coming from some sort of machinery on the roof. Don't think it was A.C., as it was winter, maybe a fan of some sort, but it ran constantly and was especially annoying at night when we wanted to have the windows open and listen to the waves. Even so, we would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Units on the ocean are definitely worth paying extra for. Some were right on the parking lot-not so...
