“Wonderful.....But please keep it a secret.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2011

Our second two week stay was even better than our first here, because we knew what to expect and had an idea of locations we wanted to explore again. The Kauai Inn is comfortable, friendly, accomodating, and laid back. Just what we want in a property where we stay. Centrally located on the island, so visiting the North is as easy as getting to the western shores. Very close to the Lihue Airport and cruise ship dockage.
Breakfast is fruit and breads, and is plentiful. Coffee is good and juices are available too.
Every staff member we met was friendly and eager to meet our needs.
The rooms are comfortable, air-conditioned and have ceiling fans too. Linens are changed daily and the beds and linens are nice and top end.
Selfishly, I hate to rave too much about this wonderful place because I don't wish it to become too commercialized or popular for fear I won't get in again...that's the only downside and a small one. A jewel not to be missed.

If you want to stay in a peaceful hotel that is "off the beaten path", Kauai Inn is perfect. It is a short drive from the airport...close to restaurants....clean...and the employees were very friendly and attentive. Our room was ready when we went to check in at noon! It isn't an elaborate hotel with a lot of glam, a big pool or hot tub. The pictures on the website hold true. I loved all the pretty flowers and banana trees on the property.

They had cookies available when you checked in. Mats to borrow if you wanted to go to the beach. They served a lighter breakfast with fresh fruit and breads which was a nice start to the day.

The only complaint we had about the Inn was the Air Conditioner ran all night long and was a bit loud. Other than that....we would stay at Kauai Inn again.

This was our third time staying here and they never dissappoint us. It isn't a 4 star hotel but it is nice and clean and would suggest it to anyone.

This inn is off the beaten path, with a grand view of mountains in the back. The rooms were "walk in your bare feet clean". And for those who love the tv - it had to be at least a 42 inch flat screen. There was a great cross through breeze in our room so I didn't need to use the air, and even with the windows open all night it was so quiet we slept like babies and the hotel was fully booked. Granted this hotel is not upscale, but I am here to see the sites and get rest in between. The grounds were lovely, the staff gracious, beds comfortable and the linens clean. Everything I look for in a hotel. And the price won't break the bank.

I understand the continental breakfast is very good, but they serve it so late - it starts at 8am, but they were late putting that out the one morning we thought we would stay and eat. And then it stops by 9:30. We did find a great bakery by the kiluea lighthouse - tucked in the middle of the china lung mall. Well worth the 40 minute drive from lihue.

We stayed here one night as it is near the airport and we got in so late at night. Our room was clean, the air conditioner was loud, but welcome and we slept well as we had some jet lag. We loved the roosters outside and the mountain view was so serene. Breakfast was just perfect--fresh fruit and some breads, and everyone was so helpful. You get more for your money here, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay for a week here.

Hurricane Irene stranded us in Lihue, Kauai for an additional week. The Kauai Inn made us feel like we were stranded in paradise. The flowers, the pool, the back yards off the balconies, fresh fruits and pastries for breakfast everyday. Very reasonable. The king rooms were 89.00 per day since we stayed for a week. The staff was very helpful and gave great recommendations. I give tins place 4.5 stars. I took off 1/2 a star because they don't have a hot tub or jacuzzi.
