We celebrated an anniversary here (seems to be a theme). And we were so happy to arrive at such a peaceful resort! The staff was amazing....everyone at the front desk, and valet couldn't have been more helpful.

Nice to lounge poolside or at the beach with rented chairs, umbrellas. There are larger resorts on either side of Koa Kea, and when we walked along the beach it was crowded. It was always nice to retreat to our peaceful oasis after time on the beach.

The room was lovely, the beds super comfortable. Enjoyed the turn down service in the evening, with a fresh cold Fiji water bedside.

One bummer with the bathroom, the two light switches..... One is for a bathroom light and ceiling fan combo (fan was loud and wished we could have turned it off) and the other light was actually located in the bedroom, but it could be seen from the shower. Just had to know which switch to turn on. But the shower did have two heads.....so that was pleasant!

Highly recommend the Mai Tais.....best I have had on the island.
Also the Kauai Chocolate in the gift shop is superb!

We spent our 34th anniversary here, and as our designated travel planner, the decision to "partner with" the Koa Kea was a quick and easy path to hero-hood! My high expectations were bolstered right from the get-go, with the personal (by name) greeting, the relaxed tour through the well-balanced and open/airy lobby spaces, and our pleasant introduction to our ocean-front room. The room was not exceptionally large, but having a full-width lanai that visually dropped right into the ocean made it feel like Kauai was our own personal island.

Now onto the details, which to my engineer-side, are as important as the initial impressions. The AC was virtually silent, and would run even while one took the luxury of keeping the lanai door open enough to hear... almost feel... the waves; with the equally quiet ceiling fan on medium, it was very comfortable, even under the “puff” and the gazillion-thread sheets. The shower had two heads, a wall-mounted and a ceiling "rain shower", but unlike most such set-ups, this one allowed you to run both a once. The “fit and finish” was fresh and well done- as if it were just completed last week but would still look great when we (hopefully) return in a few years- a tribute to the rich design and the caring concern of the housekeeping and maintenance staff. Our room (#250) was very well situated, with easy access to the stairs that opened just feet from the beach boardwalk.

It's been a bit over a month since our visit, having been swept-up back into "life", but the pleasant memories of an exceptional experience continue to linger.

My wife and I stayed at the Koa Kea for ten days this summer. Each day was wonderful and filled with much needed relaxation. Thankfully, we were at a hotel that knew how to keep us relaxed!

We had an ocean view room facing southwest and enjoyed the sunsets each evening as we sat on our balcony overlooking the courtyard and pool. The service was top notch with the expected robes, lotions, soaps, mouth wash, etc. The only frustrating thing was that the bathroom light also turned on a light in the bedroom, and sometimes it was frustrating to remember which switch to throw in the middle of the night or early mornings.

The food and drinks were good... though expensive to this mainlander.

All-in-all a superb place to stay! We would love to return.

Room Tip: Any room is good.... If you are not going to spend a lot of time in your room, there is little reaso...

My husband and I went here on our honeymoon. Hands down the best place I've ever stayed.

Our flight got in really late so we got to the hotel around midnight. The staff knew who we were before we even opened our mouths. They even made us paninis even though the kitchen was closed. Our room was perfect with the best view.

The food was all great and super fresh. The beach was a little small but it was a beach in Hawaii so I cannot complain.

The service was perfect. We're already planning our trip back.

We had a fantastic 4 days @Koa Kea in Poipu.
Wonderful location. Excellent amenities. Impeccable service. Good restaurant at the hotel.

We used Poipu as our base to access the rest of the Island.
Highly recommended for couples traveling to Kauai.

We stayed at this beautiful property for six days. It was absolutely perfect. It is a wonderful location with a terrific and professional staff. We looked at the other hotels in the area and they were so over-crowded with kids running everywhere. Koa Kea is neither of these. Always a chair available at the pool, on the lawn overlooking the ocean, or at the Bar. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It was a perfect vacation spot!

Room Tip: Oceanfront suite is as luxurious as it gets.

This place is awesome - from the quiet and peaceful accomodations, to the beautiful beach sunset views, you won't find a better place to stay in Kauai. We never had to "save" a chair at the pool, and the guy that rented the water equipment was extremely helpful. No screaming children - if you're looking for that, you can go next door to the Marriott! We will be back - in fact, I can't wait!

Room Tip: We loved being on ground level. Our lanai opened right on the grounds with easy access to the tiki b...
