Our experience with H224 during a seven day stay from June 10 to June 17, 2014 was less than anyone should expect for $500/night accommodations. The main issue we had to contend with was the tile replacement work that was being done at our front door landing. The work was on-going for our entire stay. We were asked to navigate over and around freshly laid tile without stepping on any of it. Not an easy task to do when carrying luggage, groceries, and beach bags. On the last day of our stay, the tile setter moved from in front of our door to the lower landings and proceeded to jackhammer the old tile. You can imagine the racket that created not to mention the difficulty we had in navigating our way over and through the workmen. Inside the unit, all things were in fair condition except the missing door on the washer/dryer closet (way too much noise when doing laundry) and the central vac system was not working. The furniture in the unit is outdated, some of the windows are permanently fogged over, some of the blinds can't be opened, and one of the toilets has a leak between the tank and bowl (I didn't report this to the staff because I was already too upset over the tile issue). Ultimately, my dissatisfaction is due to the fact that in all the conversations I had with the staff prior to arriving I was never told there would be any construction work going on at the unit during our stay. No warning, no consideration. Other than that, the unit is worth about an $89/night motel stay. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Just got back from spending two weeks at the Villas and it was a fabulous stay! Went with our three kids and two grandmas. Don't think anything could have been better!

First off - our unit. B300 - this is the four bedroom penthouse in the B building. When booking, we wanted to make sure we had an ocean view and this unit did not disappoint. Our back lanai, which was spacious and had a nice little eating area, had a fabulous view of the ocean. During our morning coffee, we could see whales and during the evening, had a perfect view of the sunset. The front lanai was huge, had a large table for eating, two loungers and a sitting area with comfy chairs. It overlooked the pool area but when sitting, you could see the many palm trees and the beautiful green mountains to the north. In my opinon, best building on the property for the views.

The unit was beautiful. Large bedrooms, three with large ensuites and walk in closets. Comfy beds, many many towels. Kitchen had everything that we needed. Large TV in main area and in master bedroom. The Grandmas did wish they had tvs in their rooms - as the rest of us went to bed early!

We were concerned before we arrived that the pool was a bit small for the size of the complex but it was never busy. We did not need to get up early to reserve seats - although there is only one umbrella which was very popular mid afternoon! We would suggest that the Villas invest in one or two more but that was a very minor need. The Beach Gear room was very well stocked with Boogie Boards, beach chairs, cooler bags and beach toys. When we arrived - right at the beginning of spring break - the room was empty but when we asked the management about it, they actually went to Costco to buy more for us! VERY impressed with the service!

The two gas BBQs were great and we used them often. They are cleaned every three days which was great to see. The entire place was clean and tidy - landscapers working quietly in the beautiful gardens. The entire staff obviously takes a lot of pride in their work.

The Villas are a five min walk down to Brenneke beach and Poipu Beach park - along the greenway which is very pretty. an easy walk althougth we did drive all of our stuff down to the beach when we were planning on staying for the afternoon - would have been a bit of a hike loaded down - especially the walk back after the beach trip when everyone was tired. Lots of parking. The other way on the path takes you to Shipwreck Beach - 7 mins - easy flat path. Starbucks and the little shopping area (with a few nice restaurants and great little shops) is a 20 min walk or 3 min drive on the main road.

The weight room was nice - hubbie used it a few times. Books to trade so you will never run out of beach reading material. Lots of places to walk, close to shopping and restaurants. Lots of beach towels.

The only issues we had where taken care of right away. Our dishwasher was not getting the dishes clean and with one phone call, someone was there to look at it within the hour.

We did not find it noisy at all - yes there were kids in the pool but it is Hawaii and we are all on vacation! All in all, great place to stay. Take your own seasonings and also plastic wrap and tinfoil. Came in very handy.

We will definitely be recommending the Villas at Poipu Kai to anyone we know planning a trip the this beautiful island!

Room Tip: B300 - great view of the pool and more importantly, the ocean.

I was with Liz who just wrote a review. The place was amazing, everything you needed for your stay was there or easily located. From Boogie Boards to a Business Center, books to read etc. The staff was truly out of this world. Pride in a job well done is evident. The villas themselves were beautiful, well appointed, clean and spacious. The noise was minimal, there were kids above us, but nothing more than occasional footsteps. A stay at The Villas is the icing on the cake to a fabulous vacation.

Room Tip: The penthouse is beautiful, building C and B have ocean views and pool views. The Lanais are incredible. We stayed on the ground floor in C and the second floor in B both were excellent!

This place was terrific! We stayed the first week in room C111 and C110. We were 3 couples and 3 singles staying in 3 bedroom 3 bath villas.Everyone had their own bathroom which was terrific! The place was clean and had everything in it you need for a very relaxing stay. We had only planned on staying there one week but when our second week accommodations fell through on another part of the island Lauren, Lisa and Ann did everything they could to help us out and got us back in for another week. The management team there is the best! We were there during spring break and it was busy but we were not bothered by the noise at all. We are planning a trip back as soon as we can manage. Amazing!

Room Tip: Both rooms were excellent!

We stayed in C211 for 2 weeks. The villas are large, nicely appointed with comfortable beds and nice furniture, close to the beach. Unfortunately, the noise from the pool and the neighbours ruined the luxury of the villa. You can hear every move your neighbours above make. As well there was a large group staying in the villas below us. They rose very early (6ish) gathered on the deck and woke everyone. As well, the noise from what seems like hundreds of children in the pool is deafening. We understand that everyone is on vacation and should be able to do as they please and I am sure the people above and the morning deck gathers didn't realize how loud they were but our very expensive vacation was disrupted by theirs and there is no one to complain to.
What a shame, sure a beautiful place but we won't ever come back.

Room Tip: Unless you are getting a penthouse, I don't think there is a good room.
