The two bedroom condo was set up nice with modern decor. We used Costco near the airport to load up on breakfast items, drinks, and snacks. The kitchen and dinning room worked out well for some of our meals. We asked for one of the condos closer to the ocean and they made it happen. We had a ground floor condo which allowed us to sit out on the patio and walk out to the pool. The Aston is located near the two small shopping centers in Poipu. great place for families.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the pool that is closest to the ocean.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. This was a great place to stay. We had a wonderful unit (212). Wow is all I can say. Marble floors, granite counters, and great decorations throughout. Our lanai had views of the pool, tennis courts, and the amazing beach in the distance. Like many other reviewers have mentioned, there was no ac, but the Hawaiian trade winds made up for it. Kudos to the owners of this fabulous unit.

The Aston at Poipu is really quite nice if you overlook a few short falls. We stayed for a week and had a great time. When we arrived our unit was very warm and they don't have air conditioning. The management provided some extra fans and that solved the problem. Over the next (6) days it was very comfortable and even cool during April. The temp's on Kauai only vary a few degrees from month to month so A/C is not required. We stayed in unit 120 near the office and it's only a (5) minute walk to a fabulous beach. Kauai is beautiful and Poipu is the best place to enjoy it. We did and I hope you do too!

Room Tip: I believe it's a great idea to see the room before you commit.

So my girlfriend and some friends stayed in unit 722, some other friends at 721 and across the hall and our grandparents stayed in 422. Reading through other reviews, everyone seems to mention that got either a really nice unit, or a very bad unit. By far, 722 was the best unit of us all. It had all the dishes, cookware and ammenities that we needed.
The unit itself was updated with cushion kitchen drawers, brand new furniture and updated ceiling fans. This unit however does NOT have air conditioning. It wasn't too much of an issue, since we were there at the beginning of spring and not the dead of summer.
Included above the washer and dryer (also updated) were 2 boogie boards and some masks and snorkels.
The grounds were well groomed, with very nice gardners. There are gas grills scattered around the area, so if you feel the need you can grill your own food. There are 2 swimming pools and 1 hot tub close by and free movies and video games are included at the main office.
There is a walking path leading directly to Poipu Beach, with excellent snorkeling, boogie boarding and surfing and the views of the sunset are to die for. There are also plenty of places nearby to eat, rent/buy snorkel and surf gear, as well as walking trails that lead to nice hidden spots for a picnic.
Now I'm giving this the highest rating, as our unit was by far the best and most updated, but there were other condos that were worst than ours. Unit 721 had stainless steel appliances, but the furniture was multiple years old. Unit 422 had a better view, but their condo was inindated with ants and the appliances were outdated.
I guess it really is luck of the draw and we lucked out for sure!

I hate to be critical but these condos are run down - owners have to approve capital projects on a unit by unit basis - as a result your experience us only as good as how much the owner cares!

There is no HVAC make the units really warm and humid.

Aston staff was really nice but acknowledged much was out of their control.

For the $$ I'd rather have daily housekeeping and HVAC
