Kauai Sea Riders has been providing specialized small group Zodiac Eco Tours on Kauai since 2005. As a Marine Biologist, I have always focused on providing Eco Tours to our guests – focusing on education while at the same time having a great time. All of our staff are professionally trained and share the same passion and reverence for this amazing ocean environment we get to play in everyday! We choose snorkel locations that aren’t over crowded or common, and you will have a Divemaster guiding your snorkel adventure ensuring you have an exceptional snorkeling experience. At the end of the day, our goal is to have our customers feel that they have been expertly cared for, had an experience of a lifetime, and have learned something new about the ocean and its incredible inhabitants.

“Whale tour”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

Went on a Whale tour at the end of the season. Right away we spotted a Momma and her baby.
We stopped and watched them travel slowly along. A mic was put in the water and we listened to the male whales talking. We were educated on the whates habits. Very interesting and so glad we actually saw whales!

“Turtles! Big Ones!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Despite a strong current, Cap'n Tara did a great job with the kids in the group. She stayed close to the kids, and provided them with a boogie board for flotation.
At our first stop, it was nonstop turtles. It was a turtle swarm.
At our second stop, there were lots of fishes and scary eels.
We have to say that the snorkeling in the area is not world class. That's no fault of Cap'n Tara.
She did a great job educating us all about the many beautiful fishes in the sea. Plus she makes yummy sandwiches on homemade bread. Her tip jar is cute too.
She made sure my partner stayed warm and Tara provided her with her personal wet suit!

“Turtles, turtles, and more turtles”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

What a blast. We did a little tour of the coast before we hit the water and saw numerous spinner dolphins. At our first snorkeling location we saw a lot of turtles. At the second location we saw hundreds of fish. One of the highlights of the whole trip was seeing a manta ray.
The crew was very professional, friendly and helpful. When in the water they identified the fish we saw, the different types of coral, and most importantly kept a watchful eye on us the whole time.
The crew allowed the kids on the tour to "steer" the ship. They really enjoyed it. The food on the trip was more than adequate.
Overall it was a fun couple of hours on the water. We have been on snorkel tours on other island and this was the best of the three we've been on. Two thumbs up!
Last, bring an underwater camera. You will get some amazing shots.

“Best in Kauai”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

Two brothers, Nick & Elijah, took us out for a snorkel adventure. Full of interesting facts and witty jokes, I can assure you if you're interested in snorkelling in Kauai, book with these guys! Homemade sandwiches (with homemade bread) and homemade cookies were the icing on the cake of an excellent experience.

“Best snorkel tour”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

We began the trip by coming near to a pod of spinner dolphins, then swung by a lagoon, then on to a turtle crossing above some lava tubes: amazing. Captain Tara gave us lots of information about where to sit on the boat (little kids in the middle with their parent), everything we saw, conservation efforts, and the proper way to snorkel. I suspect she wouldn't have much patience with goofing off, risky behavior, or troubling the marine life in any way. She and Nick were very kind to our 9-year-old, who was on her first snorkeling trip—she and a woman who felt she wasn't a strong swimmer were pulled by Tara on a board all around the snorkeling area. Tara brought along a second, backup, dry wetsuit for our daughter because it was a cold day in february. We saw turtles, old and young, and lots of fishes. Then we zoomed off to an area where we saw humpback whales breaching. Then on to the second snorkeling spot before heading back to shore and lunch. The lunch was great—the usual sandwiches but with homemade bread—and we were all so hungry. Everyone was shaking with cold (even with the wetsuit shirts) by the second spot and definitely on the ride back to shore, but it was still the most magical trip and the underwater visions have stayed with me.
