“A piece of paradise !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2014

Perfect place for a calm relaxing vacation or a hiking/adventure trip !
Stayed for a week in Aloha Aina vacation rental on our family vacation and we had a super vacation.
The rooms were nice , clean and has a lot of space.
The Wi-Fi worked great and that’s a must when traveling with teenagers these days :)
Also the two bathrooms right next to the bedrooms was great since the family consists of me my wife and our teenage daughter and son !
The location is perfect , very calm and the only sounds in the morning was the birds singing :) slept like a baby the entire stay.
The staff is super friendly and gave us many tips on where to go what to see and so on.
They answered all our questions with a smile on their face.
Poipu beach was nice and relaxed and had great snorkeling waters especially for kids or beginners and nearby Brennecke's Beach was perfect for body board (had a lot of fun there).
There are a lot of nice beaches on Kauai and with the help of the staff at Poipu Plantation you can find the perfect beach for you and in a safe way as well.
If you plan to go to Kauai and want to experience this fabulous island this is a perfect place to stay.
We will definitely try to make it back to Kauai sometime in the future and the place to stay is already decided.

This Place is amazing! The staff is extraordinary friendly and helped us To organize our Tours in a lovely Way! The room was the cleaneast and nicest we've ever Seen, the athmosphere is just relaxing. Just 5 Minutes Walk To the Beach crowded with Giant Sea turtles, Not much further To the Surf. We travelled the whole World but this was One of our best experiences!!!

I think many of the negative reviews of Poipu Plantation stem from the fact that people expect the full resort experience at a budget price and are disappointed when they don't get it. No, Poipu Plantation doesn't have an on-site restaurant, spa, or pool. You don't get daily housekeeping (in the vacation rental units anyway) or turn-down service. But you also don't get a small hotel room that looks like every other room in the complex, crowded public areas teeming with shrieking children, or a bill for several thousand dollars after a one-week stay. Those of us who love Poipu Plantation love it because it's not a typical resort. They provide clean, roomy accommodations with comfortable furniture and all the supplies you need for your stay. You then have the freedom to shape your own vacation... you can spend the day at Poipu Beach Park (a 5-10 minute walk away), have a drink on your lanai at sunset, then cook your own dinner instead of dropping $100 at a local restaurant because you have no other option. If you'd rather spend the day in the condo, you can... No worrying about having to vacate so housekeeping can come do their thing. The bottom line is that the location and staff here are fantastic, and the accommodations are more than adequate given the price. So if you want the Hyatt, stay at the Hyatt. My suggestion is that you stay here instead and spend the thousands of dollars you save getting out of the resort comfort zone and really exploring Kauai.

Stayed four nights in the “Pikake” B&B garden suite at the Poipu Plantation Resort. While not overlarge or luxurious, the suite had a cozy, relaxed charm. My wife appreciated the dressing table and makeup mirror in the anteroom; the bedroom and bathroom were smallish but clean, quaint, and quiet. As many reviewers have noted, the breakfasts were pleasant affairs, for the tasty dishes (varied daily), the friendly service, the conversation with other B&B guests, and the airy breakfast room. The property – easily missed the first time (and second) drive around – is located in a quiet, upscale residential/vacation home area just a few-minute walk from the first of several beaches. Brennecke’s restaurant is across from one of those beaches, and we also hit Keoki’s Paradise, TomKat’s Grille, and splurged on The Beach House, all of which were enjoyable in their own ways. After driving around beautiful Kauai, we felt good about choosing the sunnier south shore for our stay, and particularly about the attractive, peaceful, and convenient location of the B&B. Mahalo to Javed for his helpful tips, attentiveness and dry humor, and to all of the staff for their pleasant service. This place was a gem.

as the 3rd accommodation in our 9 nights on kauai, I was hoping this would be comfortable and well located for easy beach access. I was not disappointed. it is only a short walk from Brennecke’s Beach, with views of potential sea turtles along the way. We stayed in a "scenic' room (distant view of ocean) - Hibiscus . very clean and spacious. the kitchen was useful (for breakfast). The front staff was so very friendly... we made us of the beach chairs and other beach amenities. nice... and there was even free avocados from one of the staff! very customer focused. a final touch: as an apology email days later from the manager because some replacement closet doors were accidentally left on our deck (we didn't care about that); but it was nice they felt the need to mention it.

We stayed in a two bed/two bath first floor partial ocean view (I think the name was Aloha Annie) for three nights with two adults and two teenagers. Everything other than the the beds was fine considering the reasonable price relative to other prices in the area. But both beds were absolutely horrible. It is a small place and there was never anyone in the office, so we did not wait around for someone to be in the office to complain to. I did request extra pillows and a portable fan (for noise) at the time of booking because I am a sensitive sleeper. Those items were in the room at the time of our arrival. I ended up sleeping on the couch and slept better there. My husband stayed on the bed and woke up very sore everyday. Even or 18 year old did not sleep well due to the bed. Our 16 year old could sleep on the floor so she slept fine. I highly recommend that the owner replace these beds.

Aloha ivankurtz. We are disappointed to read your review title and that you and your family found our beds un satisfactory. Our guests are normally comfortable with our Serta Hotel perfect sleeper beds but we recognize bed preferences widely vary. We are happy that your suite was otherwise fine and extra amenities included for arrival. Your three nights were over a weekend and Monday. Our staff is in the office weekends 8 to noon and 8 to 3 weekdays. As you know, the reception area is always open where you had beach towels and supplies to borrow. We also provide guests with our after business office hour phone for any other needs before morning. We hope that you enjoyed our wonderful island of Kauai. Mahalo, Chris

Over the last couple of years, we stayed at the Poipu Plantation Resort several times. It is nicely located and only a short walk from Brennecke's and Poipu beaches. Our spacious rental suite on the upper floor was charming, clean, and well equipped. The free WiFi reception in the unit was very good. The view of the ocean, Poipu and the daily sunsets were also a wonderful plus point. Service was excellent. The reception desk had beach chairs, beach towels, and even cooling boxes for the guests to use. The friendly and very helpful staff - more like family and friends - get a big thumbs up. Mahalo, Melissa, Javed and Chris. I'd give six stars, if I could! We can't wait to return in 2015.

Room Tip: Take un upper apartment.
