It was Monday evening and the last day if March in 2014. We weren't sure if we would get to see the luau on the beach due to rains earlier in the day. We lucked out! Yea! Our party of seven all enjoyed the food, service, and entertainment. Our two year old granddaughter was mesmerized by it all! They included the crowd a lot for participation and so that made it more fun for the kids! We have been to three previous luaus and this by far was the best! It was in a more intimate surrounding that we didn't feel like we were being shuttled through like cattle. its definitely worth the premium seats as they give you priority seating and dining! The Sheraton has a lovely beach that shouldn't be missed. The view on the ocean was ideal for this luau! Thanks to the Sheraton for haring their property and for the Aulii Luau company for providing top notch entertainment and service! We had a blast! Our picture of
our family even turned out great!

We have been to several Luau on Kauai, and this Aulii Luau was the BEST! From the moment we arrived, we were in Paradise. The checkin line fronts the ocean, and during the wait the staff offered us an assortment of exotic cocktails and non alcoholic juices as we watched the waves crashing on the broad sandy beach. Once we entered the intimate lawn area, we enjoyed complimentary appetizers and more tasty beverages. I'm not usually big on Luau fare, but the food and its presentation at the Sheraton were unsurpassed. There was something for everyone, and I found myself enjoying the meal very much. The show, with the backdrop of the sun setting on the Pacific, was well narrated and and really well done! Our two young boys watched the fire dancer touch the torch with his tongue just feet away, and we were not even in the preferred seating area! Memorable. The entertainment was top-notch and really enjoyed by all ages in our group. Thank you, Sheraton Kauai, for reinventing your Luau as the best ever! Do not miss this one!

4 of us attended the Aulii Luau at the Sheraton Kauai on St Patricks Day, March 17, 2014 (www.auliiluau.com, telephone 808-634-1499). We have attended luaus on multiple islands and still think the Old Lahaina Luau on Maui is the best by far. As many have noted the key to this one is whether you are inside or not and when you are on Kauai the weather is a bit tricky. We booked our luau through the Marriott Waiohai which offers 24 hour cancellation as one safeguard when the weather is exceptionally rainy. We had a very nice night and time at this luau. A little but of rain came but the staff passed out ponchos and it never lasted very long. We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and tried hard to accommodate requests. The appetizer part of the luau was the weakest but the main selections had some really good items and there was plenty of food for those desiring seconds. The deserts were okay and there was coffee available as well as a limited drink menu all evening. The show was entertaining and the dancers quite good. The fire dance was/is the highlight of the night and he was very good. These have become quite expensive for families (my opinion) and I would agree with most reviewers that you can save yourself the extra $25 per person for preferred seating (first 2 rows of tables) and spend that elsewhere. I would note that the entertainment is much closer than at the Smith luau and they let you take flash pictures.

Attended event last night and am still full of the glorious food, sounds and sights! What a great way to spend sunset. I have been here in Poipu for several days and found this wonderful place on tripadvisor to explore and experience. Unhurried yet full. Loved the emphasis on family but enjoyed several maitais! Don't miss it while your here.

Our family had a great time at this event. This is only our second Luau (as a married couple) and the first for our two kids (age 12 & 17). Unlike our first Luau, we were blessed with good weather and the dinner & show was held outside, with a great view of Poipu Beach in the background. I understand this event, when held indoors due to poor weather, can be very disappointing. In our case, with vacationing in March, we caught a lucky break. The live music was entertaining while we enjoyed appetizers/drinks/dinner. The buffet style dinner was quite good with many tasty options and dishes. The after-dinner show was also very nice, and climaxed with a tremendous performance by a fire dancer. I would not recommend spending the extra $$$ on the "preferred seating" option, which seems only to give you first crack at the food and more servants to fill your water & drink glasses - probably not worth what they charge for the so-called "upgrade," IMHO.
