The service was great, the grounds were kept immaculate, and the restaurants were excellent. There was a nice surprise in the room as well; a Toto Toilet with built-in bidet and dryer. I never used one before, but it was great. Overall, a great experience. There's no need to ever leave the resort except to take in the sights of this beautiful island. Valet parking is available, but self parking is close, convenient and abundant. The breakfast buffet was nice, except for all of the birds, although that was in no way the fault of the Hyatt. The room stayed nice and cool. There was an ice machine close by with a water purification dispenser, so refilling fresh potable water was never an issue. We always breathed a sigh of relief upon returning from our daily outings. I would highly recommend this resort if staying in Kauai.

This hotel has everything I'd want in a beach resort - it's so much more than just a hotel on the beach. The pool is one of the best features, sprawling with numerous features, waterside, adult area, poolside cafe and a separate poolside sports bar. (Nice touch). The lagoon is great for swimming as well, plus the fun option of kayak rental. Resort also has numerous restaurants, a very large bar, coffee shop, nice spa, shops, access to great golf....why leave? Important to note that the beach is lovely for walks, but is pretty rough as the hotel sits just before the point, making for strong winds and rough surf. Better beaches are at Poipu or, for waves, then nearby Breneckes is worth the walk.

This was actually our second stay at this hotel - I think the service was not flawless but pretty good. The hotel sent up a bottle of sparkling wine for us just after arrival - much enjoyed! We were upgraded to a partial ocean view room in the west wing of the hotel - I think it has a better view than the other wing but that's just my preference. The grounds are beautiful. My husband thought the room looked a bit tired, but I thought it was just fine.

Room Tip: The wing at the west end is quieter - further from the pool and lobby.

We booked 3 days at the Hyatt after staying elsewhere on the Island. We were told when we confirmed that they did not have an ocean front deluxe room with 2 queen beds as we requested for our family of 4, but that they would put us in an ocean front deluxe room with one queen and 2 roll-away beds. They were very apologetic and offered us 50% off our room rate and they also threw in 2 adult buffet breakfasts! The service the moment you walk through the doors is impeccable! If you like smiling, happy people bringing you things and don't mind spending the $$ for it, you will probably be in hog heaven. Personally though, we have fonder memories of our first 6 days spent in a condo that was 15 steps from the ocean where we cooked together and spent sunsets playing in the ocean. The Hyatt is a gorgeous big resort. Wonderful if you spend the majority of time in the pool, not the ocean and like to eat out.

When I was booking my room I requested ground level, ocean side and quiet. My !7 year old son and I are 50 feet from the very quiet adult pool, ground level, very close to self parking. Expectations exceeded on all levels. I love this resort. PS The gym equipment is new and cutting edge!

The room/service/view and grounds at this hotel is fabulous. It is located on a wide beach with waves that are ready to surf. The surf was a bit rough during our stay but my 2 teenagers were able to boogie board on most days. Our suite was very elegant and the service is second to none.

Room Tip: Although the outer wings make it a long walk to the lobby/restaurants, they serve for a better view...

The hotel has everything that you could want or need.......beach, pool, shopping, restaurants.......and yet somehow it was peaceful as well. Great location if you're interested in hiking at Waimea Canyon and as an added bonus we went on a short walk/hike just steps from the hotel.

It's a holiday of a lifetime but be ware every little thing is expensive
Worth it for that fabulous time.
